Is Alabama not as good as we thought or West Virginia better? These are the kinds of questions with which season-opening clashes like this burden us.

Florida State-transfer Jake Coker was expected to see time at quarterback, but Blake Sims played the whole game. Alabama's newest QB finished with 250 yards on 24/33 passing with one interception.

T.J. Yeldon, the latest in monster Alabama running backs, finished with 126 yards on 23 carries and two touchdowns.

Alabama has a hydra at tailback this year- three guys who would individually start for any other team in America.

I watched most of the game, and knew Alabama would sew it up eventually, but watching Saban stare daggers at Kiffin in the first half was lolworthy.

The postgame show is brought to you by... Christ, I can't find it. The hell with it...

I watched most of that game and it was pretty entertaining. I was really hoping WVU would pull off the Bama slay.

To me, Bamas D looks vulnerable this year. And their O is going to have some stalls with a green QB.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Regardless, Clint Trickett has to be one of the most West Virginia names of all time.  If the football thing doesn't work out, I'm sure he has a future in NASCAR.

Lol......funny thing is he is from Tallahassee. I think he originally went to Crablegs U.

Yeah I saw that.  But the sweet bluegrass riffs of the Monongahela Valley must have called him to his true home.

The Stunning Mrs. Vance's Mountaineers gave Bama all they wanted to handle in week one thanks in part to that hurry-up no-huddle offense. They gave other teams a blueprint for exposing some defensive deficiencies, but unfortunately WVU doesn't yet have a defense that can hang with a squad as talented as the Tide. Here's hoping, for my sake, that WVU is much better this year than they were in 2013.
