2015 Michigan Commit Chris Clark Shares Thoughts on Thanksgiving Weekend, Beating Ohio State

It's no secret: Ohio State wanted 2015 TE Chris Clark, and he spurned them twice. First with North Carolina, and then with Michigan.

Such is how the teenage cookie crumbles.

Fall camps opened up this week, and while Chris Clark has yet to join Michigan's team, he is already fantasizing about a world in which Ohio State lies in a mangled heap at his feet.

And you know what? Who's to say otherwise?

Maybe Chris Clark is a teenage soothsayer? Isn't teen sage Jaden Smith proof of their existence?

I suppose, in the end, no matter what side of the blood-side you stand, the only correct response to this tweet comes from Ohio State's alma mater:

"Time and change will surely show..."

My favorite Mike Hart comment will always be "I would rather lose to App State than Ohio State." Of course this was his post game comment after losing to App State in 2007 when Long, Henne & Hart all game back to try and win a National Championship ROFL LMAO. I always say and your combined record vs. App State and The Ohio State University was 0-5!!! Who is that opening day opponent in the LiL Mausoleum oooooh yeah good ole App State. Go Bucks & Go App State beat scUM!

Because they wouldn't let me go for 3!

It'll take a lot of time and change before Michigan actually wins another game in the shoe.

Now here's one for you...there is a difference between talking stupid (I.e. someone who plays for a team that has been dominated for almost a decade & a half about how they are going to win) vs. talking from a position of strength (I.e. a kid who plays for the team who has dominated their rival for almost a decade and a half)

You can go ahead and remove almost from this post. When speaking in terms of domination and you use the word decade, what else needs to be said?  We aren't talking about a year, or a couple of years, or a few years, we are talking about a decade. (Allen Iverson voice)

Harbaugh will never leave the NFL. Unfortunately for TTUN, there are no elite coaches available...especially one who would want to take on the mess that is the Michigan Football program. When you talk shit, you put yourself in a position where you might have to eat shit.  I hope Chris Clark likes the taste of shit.  Because that's what he and every recruit that talks shit will be doing.  TTUN hasn't won in Columbus since 2000...I expect that streak to continue into the election of a new POTUS in 2016.  Then OSU will beat that ass a couple of weeks after the election to keep it going.  And it'll be 5 in a row overall because they'll beat that ass in AA in 2015, and we'll know if Chris Clark likes the taste of shit by then.  I'm guessing he won't.  He should ask Kyle Kalis about how shit tastes, and whatever other Hoke recruit has talked it only to be humbled by the great Ohio State University football team.

If you had stayed at UNC, you would have avoided having to eat shit courtesy of OSU.  Oh, wait, doesn't OSU play UNC in an upcoming season?

I am curious to know how many people that have responded to this thread were around during the Cooper years?  If you were, you probably are not talking the smack that is in this thread.  What comes around goes around and their time will come, trust me.  13+ years makes people arrogant/cocky (whatever you want to call it).  ttun was that way for a 13 year span, then Cooper was let go.  If you are not old enough to know the lean years (God bless you, I envy you), but it will flip to their side.  Enjoy the run, but enjoy it with some humility. It won't last forever.

-3 HS
Knarcisi's picture

We all respect the rivalry.  At least here, I'm not openly arrogant about it, but I will defend people responding to a 17 year old kid, talking shit, disrespecting the rivalry, when he hasn't even sniffed the practice field.

+5 HS
Oyster's picture

This is odd, and I am not stating that this is a fact, but I had 2 posts on this thread and when I checked back 10+ minutes later, each post had a reply by you and a downvote?  Are you a downvoter because you disagree?  And I really could care less about talking about downvotes, I have plenty to give up.  I am just tired of seeing posts that get zapped because somebody either cannot understand the voting concept, or simply ignores the concept.  This is why there is no spirited conversation anymore, everyone has to toe the line because an opinion (and one that does not break any posting norm or rule) gets blasted because people don't like it.

-4 HS
Knarcisi's picture

Yes, I down voted you twice. The reason is because David Boston talking smack and an arrogance over the  last 15 years of a rivalry aren't even a reasonable comparison. The latter isn't even accurate.

By the way, you care about down votes.  And I didn't down vote you here.

Also, you've seen me long enough on here to know I'm not a homer. I've had many unpopular opinions.

+1 HS
Oyster's picture

Boston, a player on the losing side of a rivalry talks smack about winning the next time the two meet on the field.  ttun faithful had a field day with that due to the dominance that ttun had in the series.  A ttun commit talks smack about when he will be playing in The Game and OSU faithful have a field day due to the dominance that OSU currently has.  How is that not an accurate comparison?

And my point about downvotes was lost on you.  It stifles lively debate.  Think about, there are no passionate conversations anymore.  Why is that?

Knarcisi's picture

Boston should not have popped off. Nor should have Terry Glenn in 1995. The pattern Michigan is creating here (4 or 5 guys lately, starting with Kalis, now Clark and a couple guys I don't even care about in between) talk smack when they haven't even been on the practice field and spent an ounce of sweat for their school, soaked anything up about this rivalry. I hated what Boston and Glenn did, but at least they were established players, stars, who could go out and try to back up what they said. Big difference.

And I got your point. We're having a fine debate.

+2 HS
Oyster's picture

Ok, I'll give you that.  However, give me this.  Had technology been what it is now during the Cooper years, what do you think some of the incoming players were saying about the rivalry before they took the first snap in a game?  We don't know because Twitter wasn't around for them to share their thoughts with the world.  I'm quite confident things were said that are the same as today, except the rest of the world didn't know they said it.  Is that a fair statement?

Knarcisi's picture

Yes, quite fair. The info and social media age openly allow all this crap. I actually hate it. It's self promotion at its best, and doesn't even challenge you to do so in person.

Have an upvote back on your upper comment to even you out with me.  You're right about the varying opinions.

Oyster's picture

What would your opinion be as an OSU fan during the 90's and an incoming stud LB declared for OSU.  One of the best prospects there is in the nation.  Nobody knows what he will do, but he is highly recruited and has unlimited potential.  Would you not appreciate his confidence about what he can contribute to OSU and the current results in the series with ttun?  Maybe even think it will spark the current roster to bigger and better things?  I would be willing to wager $1.00 that the second #45 talked some stuff prior to arriving, as did a number of other OSU players who were able to play for their lifelong dream team.  It's all good, and it shows desire and heart on their part.  I like that.  Just remember that they are still kids (and I have a kid right now that is the same age as the current incoming freshman, so I can honestly call them kids.  They still are, even though they are 18 or 19).  Do they talk without thinking?  Yep.  Do you and I sometimes do that still?  Yep.  It's called foot in mouth syndrome.  It's just that the more "experienced" people have learned to control it better.  Why blast a kid for being excited and having the unfortunate (and I agree with you about social media) ability for everyone and their mother to know how they feel.  If anything, it shows that the rivalry is alive and well.  If they were not talking smack, I would be more concerned.

+1 HS
Brutus1972's picture

I'm not even concerned about who is beating who right now in the rivalry. His mistake is running his mouth before he has even stepped foot onto a college game day football field. He hasn't even earned a spot on the depth chart let alone the 2 deep and he's already giving the opposing team bulletin board material. Let's be honest, if scum was somehow able to beat OSU in the next three years, Chris Clark's input to the victory from row 2, seat 15 on the bench wouldn't be all that noteworthy. Shut your mouth until you have actually entered the field of battle and know what it is like to play in "THE GAME!". Loud mouth freshmen and recruits are really starting to become a joke.

+2 HS
Furious George 27's picture

I doubt you'll see a time where michigan turns it around on OSU like they did in the cooper years. Cooper and fickell are the only two coaches since Hayes with a losing record against them. So at best it went back and forth since Bo came to town and cooper just sucked. For michigan to turn the tables like you are saying they need a new coach and the right one say Harbaugh, but I think that would be a back and forth rivalry at best. OSU would never put up with a 7-5/ 8-4 team year in year out like ttun has. Cooper only stayed around so long because he could win 10-11 games and beat michigan just at the right time to stay on board. So I don't understand why fans have this fear that the tables will turn again. The only other time besides the cooper era that we couldn't beat them was before the Great Depression.

Yeah, well…that’s just like, your opinion, man.

Oyster: I lived through the Woody and Bo years. We're not the ones talkin' shit here, for the most part. It's almost always started by a TTUN fan or player running their pie hole, just to psych themselves up I guess. Just like when those players attacked Dontre Wilson in The Game last year. Real tough to surround and attack a 5'7" 170lb player. Marcus Hall's double bird was justified.

You can feed a bobcat all the chili it wants. That don't mean it's going to crap out diamonds.

I would like to suit up for The Game and knock this chump on his keister myself.

I think I vaguely remember a saying about not poking a hornets nest or something.

"if irony were made of strawberries, we' d all be drinking a lot of smoothies right now."

We all have dreams. And they'll stay just dreams until we put those dreams to action.

One of the key ingredients to build a "Michigan Man" is to SUPERSIZE the mouth, evidently. I deal with TTUN fans on a daily basis up here in Toledo, and one thing you can ALWAYS count on, is them running their mouths, even when losing. (NOT looking at you MMan and Hail. Peace.)

I understand that The Game last year was a close one and came down to the last play, but the overall trend since 2002 has been toward a victorious Ohio State.

Oh this again?

Do I come off as arrogant? Shame on me, I was hoping it would more obvious.

Personally-I love it.  I love both sides slinging mud all year.  Just makes The Game that much better in my opinion.  I don't want Urban shaking Hokes hand, win or (gasp) loss.  I want scuffles during pregame warmups.  I want a backup UM RB purposely running into a Buckeye coming onto the field, and then getting blasted during the game (wasn't that Vinson Smith-not sure though).  I want our star WR and their star CB coming to blows after the first play (still haven't figured out why anyone would throw a punch into a facemask though).  I want our Coach to push his car over the state line to get gas.  And last but not least...

I want us to go for 2, because we couldn't go for 3.

This rivalry is the greatest in all of sports, and the more talk that incoming recruits talk, the more they become invested into it, even if they didn't grow up a fan of either.

If a guy has offers from both scUM and tOSU, and picks scUM, the least he can do is provide some comic relief.  This clown surely has.

Keep calm.  It's only a game.
