Just another example of Tom Crean being Tom Crean, really:
Indiana coach Tom Crean and his players "celebrated" Senior Night after their loss to Ohio State, and the ceremony did not end until about 12:15 a.m. As a result, the players did not arrive in the media interview room until 1:20 a.m., and Crean not until about 1:40.
Fine. Have your celebration. But making assembled media wait another 90 minutes is kind of ridiculous.

I gotta be honest. Given the circumstances, I would have done the same thing on the handshake. It was polite, thats all you're gonna get. The guy did NOT expect to be upset at home on senior night.
Making everybody wait an eternity, keeping your players up half the night, cutting down nets when you tie/win the regular season after a loss, those are all stupid and somewhat selfish things.
Probably the only net they'll be cutting down this season. Unless they wait for everyone to leave the tourney venue they lose at next.

Agreed. Those folks have their jobs to do, deadlines to meet etc, etc. Though at times dismissive to the edge of being disrespectful, at least The General would show up (he liked the podium, yeah).

Hard to blame him. They cut down the nets for clinching a share of the Big Ten Title. They did Senior Night festivities after the game, and there were 3 seniors who gave speeches and whatnot. So it's not like he stayed in the locker room for awhile.
I don't mean to be a dick, but you should really read the article before commenting. The article clearly shows that Crean did not show up fro 1 hour and 25 minutes AFTER the conclusion of the festivities.

Ah, festivities concluded at 12:15. He did not show up until 1:40. I can understand a little of what he was doing, letting the seniors have their "press" moment, but really, not showing up until 1:40??? The game concluded at about 11. Coaches are supposed to be available within 15 to 20 minutes of the conclusion of the activities. I guess stretching that another hour and 15 mins is no big deal!
However, I think I know what he was up to. He took that precious 1 hour 35 mins to carefully instruct his team how to do a flop and get a foul called. He had to be furious when they tried it in the last minute and it did not work out for them. Nothing like coaching the finer points of basketball. You need to take every opportunity to make sure your players get it right......

I've never seen any coach be so disrespectful to folks as this douche is........I'm rooting really hard now for Missagain to whoop up on the some Hoosier butt on Sunday...I'm thinking if its Senior day in Ann Arbor that they could cut down the nets there as well and maybe douchebag will show up for the presser sometime after breakfast on Monday
