I'd take Oregon over Alabama in the NC. Oregon just clownstomped USC in a game that wasn't as nearly as close as the score indicates. Alabama's defense was exposed by an awful LSU offense.
I know les miles is a great recruiter, but he has to be the worst crunch time coach I've ever seen. Everyone knew that screen was coming because everyone knew the blitz was coming. Just awful.

I was quietly rooting for LSU since I would love to have Kansas State, Oregon, and no team from the SEC in the MNC. Now I have to root for 'Bama to lose.

Les Miles is a HORRIBLE coach who just happens to benefit from the great recruits that are in close proximity to Louisiana. I'd say if it weren't for Saban being at LSU to begin with, it wouldn't be a destination for great recruits. I really wish that clown would of ended up at Michigan a few years back.
That was a shocking display of bad decisions by Les Miles yesterday & they still almost won...unreal.

Yeah, I think Michigan's athletic department did a pretty good job of Effing that whole situation up. Herbie's report just kind of put both sides in an awkward position. Had the brass not drug the feet and screwed the pooch, it probably would of been a done deal.
I still think the Hatter will end up in Ann Arbor someday soon, to the sheer delight of Buckeye fans everywhere. It will be good for the rivalry and great for tOSU gaining more wins.
If we have a title game w/o an SEC team it won't do anything to quell the SEC-domination talk. We need an SEC team to get into the title game and lose. Among Oregon, K-State and ND who do you think can beat Bama? I'm pulling Oregon.
I don't get the hype over Alabama's defense. They just gave up 290 yards passing to the 100th ranked passing offense, as well as 100 yards rushing to Hill. If anyone thinks that Barner/Thomas wouldn't put up more on them, you're crazy. Barner had something like 270 yards rushing before contact. That means Oregon's O-line was getting an insane push on USC.
After last night I'm wondering about it as well. LSU wasn't presenting a balanced attack whatsoever. Bama sold out to stop the run, for Mettenberger throw and surprisingly it worked out. I'd have to think that if Bama faces Oregon they'll get toasted. Oregon is more balanced...and Saban's already admitted he can't stop hurry-up power spread o's.
I think they have a good defense, but also wonder if some of their success comes from sheer intimidation. As in opponents go into a game with them expecting to not score & it becomes a bit of a self fulfilling prophecy. I mean, there was a time during that game when LSU seemed to move the ball at will. Again, I think they are good, but also think they just aren't the steel wall everyone seems to believe they are.

Even then it won't quell the SEC fans. Beat them and it was a fluke, they aren't included it's because the system is flawed, but their best team would definitely beat both of the teams playing in the game. Even when they weren't the best conference in the land their fans still believed the were bigger, stronger, and faster than everyone else.
Nothing is going to make anything immediately change. There won't be an immediate reversal of the SEC-dominates-all talk. But let's say Oregon beats an undefeated, defending champ, #1 for countless weeks Alabama team, it'll cause stir. I don't think Rome fell in a day either, at least it would be a start.
I can't tell you how surprised and overjoyed I am that LSU isn't ranked #2 this week. I don't know how that happened, but I'm glad.
You know, if anyone coached against Bama the way Les has his last 2 tries, the media would be calling them one of the dumbest coach in America(that or a choker). Miles continues to get away with it.
