wouldn't sunday normally be a day off anyways? in which case he's really just making the underclassmen practice more? or is it monday that's usually off?

Ok, before everyone decides to hate on Weis, Urban pretty much did the same thing this Sunday. The starters went to the Victory Dinner while everyone else had practice. Urban explained during the season so much time is given towards game preparation, that there is not much time to work on player development for the younger players.

I'm not a fan of Weis, but this seems very understandable.

Uh, the operative word is "Victory." Didn't know that the only winning move after an asswhooping is not to play? This is more weak leadership style from someone who never played college football.

Good point about the "victory." I could care less about Kansas, but I'm glad to see our coaching staff taking a little more time to develop younger players.

I like to be a nice guy on here if I possibly can and not question what a coach does when I don't know much about coaching so in this case I'll just shut my mouth & try to believe this man has a good reason for quitting on an entire season of college football...

Charlie Weis sucks.

Edit: regardless of whether OSU did something similar or not - Charlie Weis still sucks. Sorry.

As others have pointed out, this is a non story. We did the same thing this past Sunday. Its not giving up on a team, its developing those who didn't play while those who did watch film and recover.

If this article was about OSU, everyone would be screaming about bad journalism and bias. Yet low and behold we treat stories about other teams the same way others treat us.

Charlies Weis does crap that makes no sense at all! He has a history of stupid ideas that go wrong. He put all his eggs in one basket at ND with his "genius offensive gameplan" and did nothing to help the defense (not that I am complaining about anything bad to ND). He was interviewing for OC positions while still the OC at Kansas City Chiefs heading into the playoffs (guy is so dumb he leaves an NFL position for the same position in college). We all knew it was going to be a horrible fail when he went to Kansas. If I didn't hate their basketball program so much over the past couple of years I would feel for them.

Really the only claim to fame he has is the OC for Tom Brady who hasn't skipped a beat since Weis left. I am pretty sure it will be the same story for Bill O'Brien.

Urban did the same thing on Sunday. Leave Fatty Fatty Two By Four alone. He has enough problems of his own without us climbing on board. Like deciding which buffet he's shutting down today. What a tub of goo that guy is. Push away from the table Chuck you've had enough!
