If I could vote for my fav 11W posters, BuckeyeChief and Maestro would get my vote. Maestro has a great sense of humor. Love reading his posts almost as much as Ramzy's.
"Here officer, hold my beer while I find my license."
Thanks for clearing that up. What about the guy and girls that have been with you from the start? 2010 was when the switch was made, no? And how about a special bonus for pro PJ Hill comments...just saying.
Maybe if I used 11W as much as I used ESPN, I could be in the top 100. Sigh!
Ohio State's band SLAUGHTERED Michigan's band. If this were a football game, it would have been Florida State vs. Savannah State. - SB Nation following OSU vs. UM 2012
I gave up reading ESPN and Sporting News online years ago, about the same time I found this awesome website. Never looked back.
It's easy to find magazines, websites and ESPN that rip on OSU and the B1G(sometimes rightly so), so I just don't bother even perusing them anymore, unless there is a link somewhere for them on 11W.
"Here officer, hold my beer while I find my license."
I too gave up on ESPN. I dont mind valid discussions and criticisms of my team with reasonable fans of other teams- some of my daily football discussions are with a Notre Dame fan, a Florida fan, an LSU fan, and a West Virginia fan.
I just dont like when people bash without making valid points. That's why I stopped watching Sports Center and Gameday. Too much bashing for the sake of ratings and too much groupthink.
I had an "Insider" account with ESPN and got the magazine. I subscribed to SI for over 25 years. Both got dumped after the "Busted" issue and the rigged raffle article. I thought I would really miss both but I really don't.
As someone that enjoys reading the site without a tremendous amount of jawing, I hope this doesn't change the site as far as content. Have noticed a few forum topics getting kind of watered down and random. May not be an issue and I hope it isn't. I will always look here for info no matter what as everyone at 11W does a fantastic job and it is appreciated.
Changing the familiar can make one antsy. Putting that coffee table in the middle of the room after a few years elsewhere sure put a few bruises on my shins in the middle of the night. But we like it there much better.
Did you throw up in your mouth a little when you said that. :) I had a michigan fan at work tell me the same thing, but he had the upset stomach face when he said it, as if it actually pained him to say it.
In comparison, it's like I play flag football...but not in the A group, but maybe the B group. Actually, quite fitting because usually I'm just watching everyone else comment here while I sit as a fan.
You think you were surprised, haha! I clicked on this thinking MAYBE I had a shot at top 50 or so... But to be that high up was a little shocking and exciting. I wouldn't even consider myself "known" likeI would the rest of the top 10. Good to see though! Cheers, 11W.
I think early on it will be people trying to get to 50 so they can vote. I would guess the commenting will go back to normal, perhaps with a slight uptick, after the newness wears off.
We should strive to keep thy name, of fair repute and spotless fame...
(Also, I'm not a dude)
Definately, I for one rarely commented, but I want to be able to vote. And now that I am in the habit of commenting, I expect I'll do more of it. In the end, I think we will have more people in the discussion rather than just reading. And I have faith in my fellow Buckeyes that the comments will add to rather than simply be comments for a sticker.
If crafting superb comments is what you're looking for Hodge, I'm doomed. HAHA!
I agree with your commenting for the sake of helmet sticker totals though. Now we're going to see a bunch of people just posting willy-nilly on here and could possibly dilute the talented scribe skills of this beloved blog. Kind of like the NBA. If there is an exponential increase in stupid comments, hopefully it's just going to be a honeymoon phase for most and return to normal in the next few weeks.
I do about 90% of my commenting at work...but frankly there is only so much cooking, cleaning, working out you can do on a 24 hour shift in a firehouse when there's no fires respond to.
Yeah. I shouldn't even be on this site while at work. But I cannot help myself. So if I get promoted to full-time customer of Wells Fargo instead of full time employee, I hope Eleven Warriors can help me out.

Bucksfan -- you need to clearly distinguish yourself from that Buckfan commentor who was posting pro-Penn State Paterno-denial drivel in the summer. (I made the mistake myself of thinking it was you.)
God help your stickers if that story blows up again and he starts a second round of that bs.
I am not aware of that guy. Sorry you got confused. But I'm not changing my name now. I've got a crap-ton of helmet stickers! Just make sure you look for the bling'd-out OSU logo.
Frankly, he's not that trollish as far as I could tell. I've seen a lot worse. Don't know why you're so bent out of shape. But his name is apparently Bukfan? Not Buckfan, as you originally wrote.
Bukfan vs. Bucksfan.
It's a stretch. I mean, there are a half-dozen people here named Jake or Jakebuckeye or Jason or BuckeyeJason or JasonBuckeye or what-have-you. I can't keep all of them straight half the time.
Anyway, I'll keep an eye out, but I don't think people around here in general are confused about it. As you can see from the join dates, I'm fairly well-tenured (even if it's with a zero on the respect meter).
Gotta admit I was a tiny bit skeptical of the idea at first. However after watching in action and not seeing people abuse it, I'm a big fan. In 11W I trust.
I know there's a game saturday, and my ass will be there.
I used to live on this site! I was surprised to see so many stickers. Damn new job and having to actually be productive getting in the way. I may not post as much but I still read every day, 6 or 7 times a day.

I'm so off the pace ... I'm OK with that.
Glad to see the site gurus tweaking and developing the site nicely though.

Damn I lost a sticker for that?
Voted you up one so its offset now. Helmet sticker trolls starting early?

I had a subscription to Sporting News and cancelled that also about the same time. Forgot about them.

Our two resident TTUN fans with a good showing. I don't see any real suprises here, and I like having the comparison to how poorly I am doing :)

I noticed this as well. I wonder if they are proud of their Buckeye Helmet Stickers.
If only they could display them proudly on MGo or elsewhere.....
I have locked down 114% of the pro-Michigan vote in the state of Ohio.
Hey, it is Little Brother Week. GO BUCKS!!

I am now going to have to quit my job to get on the list!
I'm like the third-string long snapper; I've made the list but I'm not sniffing the top.
To err is human. Really sucking requires having yellow stripes on your helmet.
Same here, I'm 96th!

I hope this site doesnt become Facebook where people are competing for "likes" on there posts.
"if irony were made of strawberries, we' d all be drinking a lot of smoothies right now."
If that means that people are crafting superb comments, than I--for one--really hope to see that.
If it means that people are merely commenting for the sake of their helmet sticker total, then we'll probably have a problem.
I have faith in the eleven-dub community, though. Good discussion is always a click away.
Actually I've seen quite a few of those. /sigh

Ahh Saturday "liked" this post, whether you "like" it or not.

lol, I'm actually shocked to see that! That means I'm commenting entirely too much during work hours!
Think of all of the arguments with Denny last year when the Tress thing blew up. I'm surprised the two of you don't have well over 1000 stickers.
-The Aristocrats!
If the sticker system went back to the pre-Drupal days, we probably would have something like that many. Frightening.

I'm like the "Jim Tressel" of this site. Ranked in the top-10, but entirely overrated and hard to watch.
Oh you!
lol, as the only recipient of a thumbs-down on this particular thread, I think my assessment is pretty accurate....and so forth.

I like the stickers, I'm afraid of making dum posts to keep my self in the top 25. Thanks for a great site everyone.
Don't worry about it. I make dumb posts all the time, and look at me! 200+ helmet stickers!

I do have a question for the staff...is August 30, 2010 a default date? A lot of members joined that day...

That's the date we went live on our new platform and as such, is the first day anyone could create an account.

If someone could explain to me what helmet stickers are that would be great, anyway I have 22 of them so woo hoo to me.
Sorry, we owe everyone better documentation. Until then, the Monday Skull Session should help: http://www.elevenwarriors.com/2012/09/14185/monday-skull-session
See the Monday Skull Session from this week.
Any chance we can get a bottom-feeder board created? It might be educational to be able to see what kinds of posts lead to site-ostracism.
