You are the first minority head coach in the history of Kent State football. How do you feel about that?

DH: I hope that’s not how I’m perceived. I’m very proud off my culture, my upbringing and my ancestry. I think we have to move past that as a society. I hope they see me for being a good football coach and a good person before they see that.

This made me want to jump out of my seat in joy. What a guy.

I agree. I could give two shats about someone being white or black. Its about time we as society stop dramatizing the fact that a black man achieved this, that or the other. How can we expect equal treatment based on merit when the media over dramatizes the fact that something happened to said race. I hate hearing first black man to do whatever. Lets focus more on Hazzels merits than his skin color. He is certainly deserving. The race issue will never go away as long as media and other folks give it so much attention. I love his response. If everyone thought this way....
