The Ohio State University Marching Band is fresh off owning the last five months of 2013, so it should come as no surprise that TBDBITL is featured in Apple's new "Your Verse" commercial for the iPad Air.

Footage of the band practicing formations, including its dinosaur formation that was used in its Hollywood show for the Penn State game, was featured prominently.

TBDBITL implemented the use of iPads this past season as a way to essentially eliminate $24,000 in printing costs while revolutionizing its halftime shows, repeatedly bringing the band and the university international acclaim.

Once again, we salute you, ladies and gentlemen of the Best Damn Band in the Land.

I'm not an Apple guy but that is a very well done commercial... adding TBDBITL just makes it even better.

Apple really gets commercials.  From "1984" to "Think Different" (my favorite ad of all time), they seem to truly understand how advertising can emotionally touch the consumer.

Just saw this during the 49ers-Carolina game. Very cool.

Would have been awesome if they dotted the "i" in iPad!

I'd rather they keep it sacred and only dot the "i" in Ohio.  This commercial is cool, but that seems like selling out one of our greatest traditions.

O' Captain, my Captain!

You will get a cease and desist letter from Apple and tosu for that one.

Cool! I'll frame them.

Then you just ignore them or reply that it is clearly parody.  They actually do have to send them, as an entity can lose their hold on their trademark if they do not defend it vigorously.

Fair use? Or editorial use? The image comments on a brand relationship: one brand is represented within another brand's advertisement.

Probably editorial use.

I saw somewhere how much paper they saved, and it was mind numbing. The 24k number is a lot but weight wise it was staggering.

The weight and Cost of paper that colleges use is astounding.  I work at a branch campus serving about 3K students, and we received 6 pallets of paper last year, and I barely have 1 left from those 6.

The world can't get enough of TBDBITL! Their recognition is well deserved. They put in the work and the end product shows it.

They are truly second to none and it is another very cool recognition of their hard work, excellence and successes!  Way to go OSUMB!
