Mike Thomas Can Jump

Proof from Thomas

Here's Ohio State wide receiver Mike Thomas having fun in the weight room. And by fun, we mean jumping onto a 5-foot platform.

Thomas redshirted for the Buckeyes in 2013, but that may have only been because Urban Meyer is slow-roasting an end zone beast to unleash upon the Big Ten next year.

Sam Thompson is not impressed.

Also I'd kinda like to see what Sam Thompson could do at wide receiver.

RBuck's picture

I'd like to see what he could do at cornerback.

Long live the southend.

So many picks.

...and Michigan still sucks.

An Ohio State DB consistently catching potential INTs? Hahahahahaha!

"YOLO" = I'm about to do something extremely ignorant/stupid & I need an excuse to do it.

I'd like to see Sam Thompson and last year's FGCU team in a slam-dunk contest. I don't want a game. Not an even exhibition. Just straight up slams. Invite Mike Thomas. I would pay so much money to see that live.

With this athleticism and his last spring game, and those great hands, what is holding this kid back? Okay he may not have elite speed but he's smooth and gains yards after catch which is more than I can say for most of the receivers.

What's holding him back? The All Powerful And Mighty Urb, that is all. If you can't get along with your boss your future is not real bright. GO BUCKS!

I wish I didn't know now what I didn't know then.

BucksFan2000's picture

It's impressive and I'm excited about this kid's future, but maybe slow down on the "what's holding him back" comments.  This is a nice skill, but can he fight off press coverage?  Are his routes sharp?  Can he beat safeties playing over the top?  Can he block?
Again, I think he'll be great, but hold off on the "coaches are holding him back" stuff.

It wasn't just that he could jump that high but also how he maintained his balance on such a little surface.

To err is human. Really sucking requires having yellow stripes on your helmet.

Extremely optimistic about the WR corps next year. Thomas, Corey Smith, Jalin Marshall could really give Braxton a lot of help.

Something tells me even after his twitter rant....he very well may be playing a lil this year;-)

Some people think we’re the hunted.I don’t feel that way at all. We’re the hunter.Everybody wants an angry football team.Everybody wants a team on edge and a hungry team.If you’re a hunter, that usually equates to being hungry.

Is that all you got Mike?

otrain2416's picture

Wow it looked like it took him 0 effort too

We were born to love Ohio State and hate that team up north.

So this is the kid that called out the WRs for not showing up at the end of the year....he's starting to grow on me.

bleedscarlet's picture

Kid's got hops, that's for sure. The best thing about Thomas' twitter rant is, you know he's going to bust his ass during the offseason to back up his words. Hopefully he learns to turn being so outspoken into a good thing in the locker room instead of a bad thing with social media...

Get his ass on the field next year!  We need that guy to win jump balls!

Thad Matta is walking to Urban's office as we speak.

What is this? A center for ants?!? How can we be expected to teach children to learn how to read if they can't even fit inside the building?

Toilrt Paper's picture

That was a running jump. Believe it or not Heuerman has the highest standing vertical on the team. He also has the most reps of 225# on the team.

GoBucksToledo's picture

Does it matter that it was a running jump?  Wouldn't he be running before he went up for a pass?

seafus26's picture

I like the YouTube of JJ Watt standing in front of similar stack, no running, and leaps straight up ontop at 290 lbs.

Go Bucks and michigan STILL SUCKS!
