Bama Fans Aren't Pleased With Their Kicker

By Chris Lauderback on December 1, 2013 at 10:55a
Cade Foster might need to lay low for awhile.

We won't crush the entire Alabama fanbase for the acts of a few because quite honestly, a faction of Ohio State fans would likely act just as nuts following a loss in which the kicker missed three field goals.

At the same time, way too many Bama fans lost their minds last night. A sampling:

He gets style points for the Toomer's Corner reference but damn, son.

Here's Jalen. He seems level-headed, on top of being a sharp speller:

Wishing rapp on someone? That's cole-bludded, sir.

The insane tweets were really never-ending so the final word goes to Bama's stud linebacker C.J. Moseley, who stood up for his teammate:

For CJ.  Way to stand up for your kicker.

agreed. Wholeheartedly. Some 'fans' really suck

You can feed a bobcat all the chili it wants. That don't mean it's going to crap out diamonds.

1. OSU fans did the same to the TE after the Texas game. 2. Speaking of lunatic fringe, can you imagine the reaction of Tammie of the Finebaum show fame during the return? If you've ever been to a Blue Jackets game and seen the fat, shirtless guy dance, you're horrified, but can't turn away. That's how I would treat a Tammie video during the return.

Winning is a habit. Unfortunately, so is losing.

Hambone was lucky it was the pre-twitter era.

I wonder how these people deal with their own failures, in their own lives.

What a shame.

Is it strange that I am less concerned with the chest puffing, and more outraged by the horrible grammar?

FWIW, The guy is from Alabama.

Misdirected angst at best.  How does a Nick Saban coached team trot a standard FG/XPt team on the field for a long field goal?  Most teams should have a "Long FG" unit that more closely resembles a punt team in bodies.  Those big offensive linemen did not have any chance of covering a missed FG.  Put LB's and DE's on the line and there is a much better chance to avoid a castastrophic return.  Surprised that there is not a "fire Saban" movement!!!!

Gary Danielson's line is still one of the best things I heard after the game...

There are no athletes on the field for Alabama; just fat guys.

After reading your comment, maybe that's what he meant to say but did it in a completely ass backwards, unflattering sort of way.

Yep, ole Satan out coached himself Saturday night. I wonder how it feels to argue for one second on a game, just to lose becasue you got it?

Erm- you do realize they *kill* people who screw up in soccer games overseas, right?

Buckeyejason's picture

Ok, but do they go on twitter and make threats for the public to see?

And ESPN is reporting that the team and it's fans are rallying around the kicker? I am confused.

Elsewhere, OSU fans seem to be pleased with Tyvis Powell...

I for one, am glad we can't know the twitter fury that would've resulted from Mike Lantry's misses in the Ten Year War.

nm_buck's picture

Indeed.  During Tiebreaker I found myself pitying Lantry.  "I was just happy to be a part of The Game."  Man o man.  As people pointed out, nobody remembers the ones you make.

I love this point made above about our fan base and threats to players.  I'll never forget the BS that transpired after the TX game at home when Ryan Hamby dropped a most certain TD pass.  I wish fans of any team would realize that it's just a game and these players are just human beings.  They're not super human, even though sometimes they seem that way to us. They're just human!

Some people think we’re the hunted.I don’t feel that way at all. We’re the hunter.Everybody wants an angry football team.Everybody wants a team on edge and a hungry team.If you’re a hunter, that usually equates to being hungry.

They should be PO'd with Saban. For making one of the biggest coaching blunders in the history of College football. A 57 yard field goal, when he could(should) see Auburn was not going to try to bock the attempt? He couldn't see that Auburn had personnel on the field to return a missed field goal, not to block it?? He didn't tell his FG attempt team to be prepared to stop a return, if the FG was missed??? Watch the video, 90% of the Alabama players just stood there and watched until the kid had already run 50 yards up the sideline. Saban should have called a time out if he had one. If he didn't have one he should have gone half way out on the field and YELLED at them to take a knee. Was Saban afraid to go to overtime with Auburn like Hoak was ????
