I just got to see the very end of the game. Why was he wearing 98?  I saw that play and I was like, Why is the defensive end throwing a pass?

wojodta's picture

It's a tribute to OSU's offensive coordinator.

To be serious, it's for Tom Harmon, their 1940 Heisman winner.

Can't play this on my device!?!? I didn't see the game. Sounds like a good one. Even if the out come sucked. We better not over look SCum this year. N D just got beat up I front of their imaginary wives and family's. That has to make those N D players  just want to disappear.
Did anyone hear cHOKE say he would take garbage over Johnny tinyprivates?

in GIF for you....

penult's picture

That doesn't do it justice because he ran backwards for 15 yards before that point.

pjtobin's picture

Thanks for the gif. I seen the whole play on YouTube. Rookie mistake. I will give it to them, they are playing well.

Oh yeah, that one's going in my whenever-I-feel-down playlist. Guaranteed to raise a smile.

Lols...plenty more of these from him please.

Man, that's right up there with the terrified punter gif.

Their overconfidence will grow with each game, making their tears all the more tasty in November and December.

To err is human. Really sucking requires having yellow stripes on your helmet.

Charlene's picture

It is not overconfidence. It is beating a credible team while we entertain teams that our top HSs could compete with. Michigan is for real and has proven it unlike ourselves. We will not know what we have for three more weeks.

AndyVance's picture

Wow you are a ray of sunshine... Have you had anyhing positive to say about this team at all this season?

Are you on the team?

Oh, that was glorious.

ROFL ... I'll second that - GLORIOUS!

I loved that. I think he was channeling Deenard. It was a beautiful arm punt that only Devin and Denard could pull off.

BuckeyeUro's picture

A part from this stupid play, the guy played well and we have to give him credit for his 21 completions out of 33 for 294 yards and 4 TDs. Plus he ran for 83 yards and had another TD. Just don't overlook the opponent strengths and focus on only the weakness otherwise its gonna hurts us comes November!

BuckeyeinExile's picture

Unfortunately I think he is good enough to learn from his mistakes, unlike Denard, and we won't get any give-mes like that in November.

blueinsconsin's picture

He seems to be very level headed and I don't think we'll see him make a mistake like that ever again.  Not saying he won't make some bad decisions, but nothing like that.

If that's true, that's a real bummer.

He can learn, but if his instincts are to tuck, run away and toss the rock, then I'm betting he will repeat that lesson.

I'll say that Gardner isn't too bad of a QB, but that was awesome.

...and Michigan still sucks.

While I enjoyed Gardner's interception immensely, I was also impressed by his play making ability for much of the game.
Without that interception, scUM beats ND by an even larger margin.  It will be much more satisfying to beat a ranked, highly lauded scUM team at home in November.
Also, while this isn't really related, Hoke's personality is kind of growing on me.  I know he's fat and what not, but he's kind of a likeable guy in interviews and has recruited well.

RedStorm45's picture

He reminds me of a young TP - doesn't want to take the sack and doesn't want to just throw it away because he usually has the legs to get out of trouble.

EvanstonBuckeye's picture

Um, that was a hell of a catch by Tuitt.

Nick's picture

ND isn't a top 15 team, neither is UM.

blueinsconsin's picture

How do you figure?

BuckeyeVet's picture

Going into the game I'd put ND at about #15 & UM at around 10-12. Afterwards ND at 17 - 20 & UM at 9-10.

I think Michigan could be a top 10 team by the end of the year.  12-15 is probably pretty close right now, but its hard to tell this early into the season.  Michigan has a few things they need to fix still.

I couldn't believe it happened when I saw it. It was beautiful (though the scared punter is much funnier on my opinion.)
I do have to admit it was a highly entertaining game to watch, and didn't let down the hype. Devin Gardener is much better than I gave him credit for, and appears to be a smart QB with a much better arm than Denard.

It reminds me of a Tate Forcier fumble that I believe Kurt Coleman recovered from the 2009 OSU-Michigan game in Ann Arbor. Sean McDonough had the gem, "he carries that football like it's a loaf of bread."
