Video: Highlights from the 2013 Ohio North-South All-Star Classic

By Jason Priestas on May 1, 2013 at 3:23a

Thanks to the fine folks over at Scouting Ohio, we get highlights from Saturday's Ohio North-South All-Star Classic at Dayton's Welcome Stadium.

The event is the longest-running high-school all-star football game in the United States and featured future Buckeyes Gareon Conley (Massillon Washington), Chris Worley (Cleveland Glenville), Darron Lee (New Albany), and Jalin Marshall (Middletown).

Conley took home offensive MVP honors thanks to his three touchdown performance to lead his North squad to a 33-27 win, but we'd be remiss if we didn't hand the Scouting Ohio team an award for this beautiful, 1080p video with player annotations. Superb work, gents.

Didn't see Jalin in that video.

"YOLO" = I'm about to do something extremely ignorant/stupid & I need an excuse to do it.

Jalin did not play.  Often times several of the top players in Ohio don't play in this game for a variety of reasons.

I'm very impressed with Worley. He looks big and fast among other good players.

Can't wait to see who wins the Conley sweepstakes (Z. Smith or K. Coombs). Maybe he'll actually get to play both ways?

I'd actually rather see Smith get a hold of him at this point - using his speed on the outside at 6'2" he's got great size for a DB and really good size for a WR, but having him as a weapon on offense would allow Marshon Lattimore to compete on the defensive side of the ball which is what he wants to do at the college level.

I think he fits the best at CB, but in terms of need for this team, he may be best suited to play WR.  I'm very curious to see what the staff does with Gareon when he hits campus.  He could be one heck of a CB when Marotti gets ahold of him.  I mean can you imagine the secondary we are going to have in a year or two? Talk about insane.  It's no wonder Jabrill Peppers wants to go to Michigan instead.  The kid believes he's going to win the Heisman as a true freshman, and sorry Jabrill but you probably wouldn't play significant time until your sophomore year at OSU.

Although I highly doubt it will happen, I'm holding out hope that Conley can see time on both sides of the ball -- Chris Gamble, anyone?

He may not have had the TDs that Conley did, but Lee impressed me the most. Kid looks like a heck of an athlete. Looked like he played several different positions as well.
Did Jalin play in the game? Sure didn't see him in the video.

Great to see all the talent on one field. Ohio still has it.
