Unlike its rival to the south, the Wolverines put forward a dominating effort in its Elite Eight contest to secure a place in Atlanta for the Final Four. Nik Stauskas, in particular, caught fire. Stauskas had 22 points on 7/8 shooting, including 6/6 (!!) from the perimeter. Ohio State sure could've used a performance like that against Wichita State.

Mitch McGary also demonstrated his coming of age, contributing 11 points (5/8 shooting), 9 rebounds, and 5 blocks. Have to wonder why Beilein didn't start McGary sooner in the season.

As a result, the Wolverines raced to a 20 point lead during the first half, and a 17 point lead at intermission. They withstood an early run from Florida in the beginning of the second half and cruised to victory. It was enough to compensate a subpar performance from the guard tandem of Tim Hardaway Jr and Trey Burke. Both combined for 26 points on 8/29 shooting.
