Your Final Thursday Night Football Open Thread of 2012

By 11W Staff on November 29, 2012 at 7:25p

Let's be honest. Even though tonight serves as the last bit of Thursday night college football until next September (/sheds tear), we'd probably pass on running an open thread for Rutgers-Louisville, even if it will determine the Big East champion and a likely BCS bowl berth.

That changed last Tuesday when Jim Delany welcomed the Scarlet Knights as the Big Ten's 14th member program. Now, instead of this just being a run-of-the-mill game between two unranked Big East programs, it's your first real opportunity to absorb some of that fine Rutgers football tradition. Oh, with Louisville heading to the ACC, this game will also serve as the de facto rubber match for the ACC-Big Ten Challenge, which ended in a 6-6 tie.

So... let's go Rutgers? (Did we mention that Rutgers is the only original Big East school that's never won that league in football?)

Go Rutgers!

Where's Teddy Bridgewater at?
Those Rutgers Uni's are ill!

These Rutgers unis remind me that (sorry traditionalists) I'd like to see our Pro Combat uniforms go black one year but not v TSUN. I would hope not to go the same route as Rutgers though - looks way to Bearcat'ish for OSU.

Nice pass!
One play, one TD.
B1G! B1G!

Those Uni's would look sick with those Black and red cleats that we wore in 2010.

14-3 Rutgers... I am loving this.  Am I the only one feeling the B1G pride?  Keep it rolling scarlet knights!

Same here. Place is rocking for 54,000. Their uniforms are sick too.

cplunk's picture

No, me too!
Its absurd, but I already root fr Maryland and Rutgers in everything just because they're joining.
As soon as we've played them a few times, though. They'll take their new place among the non-OSU teams in the B1G, otherwise known to me as "those shitholes".

haha, so true, but only if they beat us once and a while; otherwise, it will be hard to hate them.

They become kind of cute otherwise, like Indiana in football.

Seriously, not kidding at all, apparently Schiano started it before he left for a nice payday.

Rutgers Unis tonight are pretty awesome.  I like the color of the numbers.

I'm not thrilled about Rutgers joining, but I have to admit; that stadium is pretty cool. It looks way bigger than 54000. Much better than the shitholes in West Lafayette and Champaign.

We can't stop here; this is bat country...

What a catch by number #14.... Go Rutgers
Sidenote Michigan beats Tennessee and Nebraska beats Maryland E. Shore in Volleyball. Ohio State plays ND tomorrow along with a lot of other B1G teams in action. B-1-G B-1-G B-1-G

Look closely, because the closer you think you are, the less you will actually see.

Why does Louisville's Cardinal mascot have teeth?  Is it supposed to make it look tougher?  It's a Cardinal!!!! Cardinals aren't tough!!!!

I like the calls Rutgers is making on defense. Very aggressive, lots of pressure and man-man matchups

What a crappy ending. I thought Rutgers had it headed for OT.  Dang.

Dustin Fox was our leading tackler as a corner.... because his guy always caught the ball.

The ACC beats the B1G for the Big East Championship.
Oh well, now Louisville will do what the ACC does best, lose BCS games.

Now we'll finally be able to see where Rutgers REALLY excels.
