We’re Terrible Like That
Today, August 20th, marks the 2nd birthday of Eleven Warriors. Closing in on 1000 posts later, it’s still a blast and the thought of people actually stopping by to see what we have tossed up against the hypertext flypaper that is the internet is gratifying on so many levels.
Mmm… incentive.So, thank you readers. It’s been an awesome two years and we’re looking forward to 365 days of terrible two-edness.
For three guys that are always trying to better our writing, we’re still looking to improve. And that’s where we have to ask you one small favor. We’d love to hear from you, the readers, about what we can do better, what you want to see more of, less of, and what we completely stink at. Maybe it’s an idea for the site — whatever will make 11W a more solid Buckeye destination.

anyways, i’m not really sure what i’d ask you to improve. i think this site, along with Our Honor Defend, have significantly upped the ante when it comes to OSU blogs. you guys are doing a great job, and the only thing i can think of is maybe more technical game analysis (dissections of plays, formations, etc.), but that’s it.

Happy Birthday Gentlemen! As for room for improvements, I really enjoy the amount of youtube goodness OHD keeps pumping out and could maybe suggest either beefing up your videos/link it to this website for easy glorification/buckeye gratification.
The 11W Lite and avatars are great ideas. I really enjoy looking at that 11W Lite in the morning to keep me encircled in anything w/OSU. I am glad you guys incorporated that into the mix since the original page’s layout.
Since fall football is almost in the air, I’m honestly hoping for some type of ability/gift from God to be able to upload gameday photos/videos by users. One final thought is possibly creating some more visuals to promote the site itself (New items in the 11W store/more visible link for those interested, and how about some 11W Wallpaper for the Laptop? (assuming you have a little bit of talent and a registered or pirated copy of Photoshop)) Take this as constructive criticism since i’m really being more picky than Rich Rod’s wifes sense of style.

I love the site. It’s the first one I hit every morning. Not that it’s needed, but if you were to add something, maybe a pics section. I’m sure you guys have some great shots from your travels. Letting the fans post to it would be great too.

Love the site it’s the first Buckeye blog I check each morning. Maybe you could add some more historical stuff? Features or interviews with past players would be awesome.
Seriously, my favorite Buckeye blog amongst many good ones. A great sense of humor, and I love the Good Shizzy sidebar. Something on there aways cracks me up. Keep up the good work, and I swear someday I’ll donate!

11W Happy B-day!!! It just so happens to be my wives b-day today as well. So as we prepare to go out for a nice dinner and drinks, I wanted to say congratulations!! I like in Knoxville, TN, since moving from the glass city after high school in 95, SEC country is a Biotch, but you gotta love the weather, and I am only 4 hrs from C-bus, I try to make it to at least one home game every year. Neyland Stadium doesn’t hold a candle to the SHOE on game day though, not even close, believe me!! And I go to your sight every day for insight on everything scarlet and grey. I was a lost sheep in the wilderness of blogspheredom before I luckily stumbled across it. It is BY FAR the most informative and insightful sight I have seen. Not just for OSU, but for any major college blog, you do an amazing job. I reccomend you to any Bucks fan I come across now.
As far as improvements, it is hard to suggest really any, maybe do a buckeye nut of the week, frome gamedays, or tailgates. Craziest fan, drunkest fan, dumbest looking, hottest girl in a uniform…etc, I am sure you can come up with some good ones. It will help your readers feel like they are contributing to your site, and Pictures from games are always great, especially if you can’t make every one like myself, it is nice to know I am getting blitzed in Tennessee wearing my lucky shirt just like everyone in the Bus. It’s that unity and love for the beloved buckeyes that brings us all together!!

how about a message board? would be a nice addition, and a video section with a collection of links to buckeye videos on youtube, ohio preps, etc.
You guys do have a great site, and its good to see that you’re trying to make it even better. Here’s my $0.02.
1. It would be good to read more about recruiting news. Its hard to get that information for an average fan like me.
2. It would be an interesting addition if you add a feature where users can submit their pictures regarding OSU football players, when they meet them in person in school, High Street, or at the library (not!). Surprisingly, the two times I’ve met Craig Krenzel was in the Prior Health Sciences Library!
3. As someone already mentioned, a message board may be a worthwhile add.

Happy Birthday 11W…….. I think it’s refrshing not to hear to much about all the recruiting circus that goes on all year round as there are other outlets for that. I do like the frequency and quality of the post’s, some blog sites update maybe every other day but with 11W it’s an everyday thing and it’s funny stuff wich is awesome. Lastly I also read OHD and Buckeye Commentary along with 11W and all of the sites never write about the same thing so think if 11W and OHD and Buckeye Commentary all kinda keep tabs on what each blog site posting and keeps with different materials as they do now it will remain the best blog 11W thats is.

Great site and one of my “must reads” each day. The only thing I would add is hot Buckeye co-eds. I think a Buckeye Babe of the Week would be a great feature. But I’m just a hornball who likes hot chicks.

Honestly this is the first website I visit everyday! Your site is very informative and has great links. You are all doing a great job. The only thing I can suggest is to maybe have some articles that scout our future opponents a bit more.

1. How about an occasional (or regular) post-game detail of each series to see how the offense (or defense) does on each play, sort of like what Brian does over at you-know-where. The thought of a scUM blogger being better than us at something keeps me up at night.
2. A contest every time the boys in blue take a loss (which should be frequent this season) for the saddest or most pathetic blog post by a depressed scUM fan. There were some classics last season.
That’s all. Keep up the good work!
So yeah, a message board would be nice. Sometimes I wander over to the OZone board, but shit there’s like a million posts an hour there and they act like total asshats if you post something but you’re not a ‘known’ poster. A new guy could post something interesting and get zero replies, then one of the ‘regulars’ posts the same crap for the 8th time and here comes 30000 replies that you have to sift through.
So yeah, a message board. One that is not overrun and highly manipulated by jweks.
Also, I know there are a few NFL/Buckeye features out there on the blogs, but I’ve never seen a ‘preview’ NFL series. This would be like…Like the article over at the OZone that tells you who to root for in the games with BCS significance? You know, something that says “Hey, this week the Colts play the whoevers, and the whoevers have a shit secondary so watch for AGonzalez to catch a few balls” and “On Monday night the Ravens play whofreakingcares and Troy Smith will start….” You get the idea. I only watch NFL ball to root for old Buckeyes, but I never really know when they’re going to be on. Some sort of regular series like this could alert me that I need to be inside at 330 on Sunday, but meh, at noon who the hell cares no Buckeyes are playing…
So, yeah. Message board and stuff.
And if I win this little contest thing, pick another lucky fool, I’ve already got that DVD.

Suggestions:
1. More farks. Farks are funny. Who wouldn’t like to see photoshopped pictures of Kirk Herbstreit being forced to drink the Jim Tressel Kool-Aid that had been filtered through Woody’s vintage gameday tighty-whities? Make images like that not just be a personal fantasy of mine. Allow my dreams to become a reality.
2. Also, free stuff is the KEY. Blog readers, in general, are losers. Free stuff makes losers temporary winners. Know your audience!
3. I understand that ad banners put a few pennies in the 11W collective pocket, but it is a tad…janky (as the kids say.) http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=Janky
Get rid of them if you can.
4. A message board would also allow fellow 11W readers to communicate in another way other than post comments. Deadspin needs a message board too.

Well congrats to you guys. I’m not going to post several suggestions…in an effort to keep it fair so I’m not purposefully upping my chances of winning.
However, I think a very simple suggestion would be if you could allow users to assign a certain number of buckeye award leaves to your blog posts based on how much someone enjoys that particular post. Perhaps if users could accumulate those as well for insightful comments or something. Just a suggestion…I guess instead of rating your posts with a star system from 1-5 or whatever based on approval…you could do buckeye leaves instead. I read a lot of osu blogs but I can’t recall if this has been done before…
