Ohio State and Campus Partners Unveil Plan for Development at 15th and High

Any Ohio State alumni reading this who got their degree ten or more years ago? You probably remember Long's bookstore at the corner of 15th and High. This was the de facto campus bookstore for students, whose iconic display served as both public thermometer and clock for students walking on High Street. That display moved to the Barnes and Noble in the Campus Gateway when that bookstore opened. The old Long's bookstore remained as an empty building.

However, its days are numbered. Ohio State and Campus Partners unveiled a nine-acre development plan today that would knock down the old building.

The plans layout a "more rational" street grid that would also make 14th, 15th, 16th, and 17th avenues into two-way streets.

There is no timetable for when the construction will start as Ohio State and Campus Partners look to shore up support in the community for the long-term goals of the project.
