Oh, to be a professional athlete.

Everyone, make an effort to have a good Tuesday. The best effort you can, at least.
RISING THE RANKINGS. Sam Greer is now a top-15 prospect according to Rivals.
In the latest Rivals300 rankings revealed on Monday, Greer shot up to the No. 14 overall spot in the class, and he's No. 5 at offensive tackle. He is two spots from being a five-star in their rankings.
The surge is largely due to Greer's showing at the Rivals Five-Star challenge in June. He was ranked as the second-best performing prospect at the camp.

Ohio State commit Sam Greer showing everyone what he can do at the Rivals 5 Star . He dominated all day! pic.twitter.com/L4jqxqkO0B
The following is Rivals' "Scout's take" on Greer:
In a deep group of touted offensive tackles at Rivals Five-Star, it was Sam Greer who stood out among the rest. The Ohio State commit checked in at nearly 6-foot-7, 323 pounds with plus length. Greer was a standout during the extensive 1-on-1 period, getting the best of talented pass rushers on most of his reps. Greer flashed light feet and some of the best reactive quickness among the offensive linemen at Rivals Five-Star. He was also hyper physical. Greer was a bull on contact, giving little ground once engaged.
Greer is getting a chance to showcase his potential after missing most of his sophomore season with injury. This camp cycle was his first with a full season of varsity experience under his belt. A 6-foot-7, 323-pound, in-state offensive tackle who shut down elite edge rushers at an elite recruiting camp? Sounds good to me! Ohio State might not break its drought on composite five-star offensive tackles, but Greer is showing the potential of a future front-five anchor.
Defensive end Khary Wilder, named the top-performing prospect at the five-star challenge, also saw a massive jump in the Rivals300 to No. 38 overall. While the Buckeyes still want a second quality defensive end to complement Wilder, it's good to see his stock climb, too.

247Sports' composite rankings are calculated using the rankings of 247Sports, ESPN and Rivals. They have not been updated to reflect the new Rivals300. When they are, expect to see a significant jump from Greer, currently ranked No. 109 in the composite, and Wilder, who is No. 241.
LEADERS ON THE FIELD AND IN THE CLASSROOM. No less than 185 Ohio State student-athletes earned the Big Ten Distinguished Scholar Award, the 1,984 recipients of which were announced by the conference on Monday.
Of those 185 Buckeyes, two were recognized from the football team for their academic excellence in 2024: then-fourth year cornerback Lorenzo Styles Jr. and second-year wide receiver Carnell Tate.
For Tate, an underclassman, to distinguish himself in his studies as an underclassman despite all the spoils of being an Ohio State star, is awesome. Major props to Styles too, of course, and all of the Buckeyes' Big Ten Distinguished Scholar student-athletes!
"I THINK WE GO BACK-TO-BACK." I had the pleasure of joining the call for our second 12th Warrior Happy Hour with guest J.K. Dobbins on Friday, and folks, it was a riot.
I'm not going to dive into all that was discussed, as the full Happy Hour is available exclusively to those esteemed 12th Warriors who so generously help support our independent coverage of Ohio State. (And help put food on the table for your beloved fill-in Skull Session writer and his bearded dragon.)
But there are few times I've ever laughed more in a one-hour span than our conversation with Dobbins. He's blunt in the best way possible and unabashedly himself. And he's confident Ohio State is going to win another national championship in 2025.
"(James) Peoples is gonna go off this year, and then we're still gonna have Wide Receiver U because you've got the beast coming back," Dobbins told the 12th Warrior Happy Hour on Friday. "Of course everybody knows with Jeremiah, but I think Tate's gonna be really good, I think Inniss is going to be really good. I think we're gonna light it up again.
"I think we go back-to-back. I'm putting it out there."
Dobbins remained ever-grateful for his time at Ohio State and expressed love for the city of Columbus. At least for me, it was an hour well spent.
Click the button above to join the 12th Warrior program for $85 per year – that's just $7.08 per month – if you want to join in on the next 12th Warrior Happy Hour. Thanks as always for your support of us here at Eleven Warriors.
SONG OF THE DAY. "Melt Session #1" - Denzel Curry. I know people aren't always enthused by my rap music inclusions, but I figured I'd give a soft, lyrical one this time. This is the type of poetry that first attracted me to rap many moons ago.
