Saturday's Ohio State spring game left us with plenty to analyze and discuss on this week's episode of Real Pod Wednesdays.

We finally got to watch Ohio State's quarterbacks throw passes in Ohio Stadium, saw numerous early enrollees impress in their debuts in the Shoe and learned that the bullet is in fact real among other takeaways from Saturday's scrimmage, which concludes Ohio State's spring practice season for 2021.

A rundown of some of what we talked about on this week's show:

  • 3:30: 22 minutes of quarterback talk, including why C.J. Stroud looks like the frontrunner but why Kyle McCord should also get a shot to compete for the job in preseason camp
  • 25:30: The other freshmen who stood out on Saturday – Jack Sawyer, Emeka Egbuka, Marvin Harrison Jr. and TreVeyon Henderson – and why Ohio State has to find ways to get them all on the field this year
  • 37:54: The bullet is real! Why we think that new position can make a positive impact on Ohio State's defense, and what else we think about the state of Ohio State's passing defense coming out of the spring
  • 46:45: The under-the-radar players who also shined in the spring game

For the final 15 minutes of this week's podcast (beginning at 51:30), we shift gears to Ohio State basketball to talk about the addition of Joey Brunk, what he brings to the Buckeyes and why Ohio State should have one of college basketball's most complete rosters in 2021-22 even though it settled for Brunk rather than landing five-star center Efton Reid.
