Ohio State has a WNBA draft pick for the fourth consecutive year.
The Los Angeles Sparks selected former Ohio State guard Chance Gray with the No. 24 overall pick in the second round of the 2026 WNBA draft on Monday.
Gray is the fifth Buckeye to be selected in the WNBA draft since 2023. After a four-year drought from 2019-22 in which Ohio State had no WNBA draftees, Ohio State has now had at least one player selected in four consecutive WNBA drafts for the first time ever.

Gray heads to the WNBA after two seasons at Ohio State. Gray, who started her college career at Oregon before transferring to Ohio State in 2024, averaged a career-high 14.7 points per game for the Buckeyes this past season, also contributing 2.5 rebounds and 2.7 assists per contest while shooting 45.3% from the field and 40.5% from 3-point range.
Another former Buckeye, Cotie McMahon, was selected by the Washington Mystics with the No. 11 overall pick in the first round. McMahon played for Ohio State for three years before transferring to Ole Miss for her final collegiate season.
Former UConn star Azzi Fudd was the No. 1 overall pick in this year’s WNBA draft. UCLA, this year’s national champion, set multiple WNBA draft records, becoming the first school to have five first-round picks and six overall draftees in the same WNBA draft.
