In the long and rich history of “The Game,” the 1968 battle between No. 4 Michigan and No. 2 Ohio State in Columbus is remembered fondly, thanks to the 50 points Woody Hayes and his “Super Sophs” hung on the Wolverines.

The 50 points tied the 1961 effort for most ever scored in the rivalry against the Wolverines Ohio State's statistician at the time wanted to leave a mark with this delightful bit of trash talking at the bottom of page nine in the official box score.

50  Yep, that's right!

Here's to you, official statistician of the 1968 Ohio State–Michigan game.

Incidentally, the game is also known for one hell of a Hayes quote. Following a late fourth quarter touchdown from Jim Otis to make it 50-14, the Ohio State coach went for two points instead of kicking an extra point. The attempt would fail, and when asked why he went for two up 36 late in the game, Hayes allegedly replied, “Because I couldn't go for three!”

Shout out to eagle-eyed Matt Gutridge for spotting this box score delight.
