The former Ohio State and Cal quarterback committed to the Wildcats on Friday, linking up with his former high school head coach, Eric Kjar, now the head coach of Weber State. Brown will be a redshirt senior in 2026.
Brown made one start across his three-year stint with Ohio State, where he committed as a top-50 prospect out of Utah. After starter Kyle McCord hit the transfer portal in December 2023, Brown played the first quarter and an early portion of the second quarter of the Cotton Bowl vs. Missouri before exiting the game with a lower-body injury. Brown finished the contest 4-of-6 passing for 20 yards. He finished his Buckeye career 27-of-48 (56.2%) for 331 yards, three touchdowns and one interception.
Brown transferred to Cal after backing up Ohio State starting quarterback Will Howard in 2024, but could not win the Golden Bears' starting job over Jaron-Keawe Sagapolutele. Brown finished his redshirt junior season 4-of-7 for 48 yards and one score. Ideally, his reunion with Kjar finally lands him a starting job.
