Smith, Tate Will Go Through Warmups Expecting to Play

Big Noon Saturday sideline reporter Jenny Taft said on Big Noon Kickoff that Ryan Day "still didn't know" how much Jeremiah Smith and Carnell Tate would play in The Game. While he expects both to be available, Day told Taft he had to have some "tough conversations" with Ohio State's training staff about Smith and Tate's availability.

"When we had a conversation with Coach Day yesterday, he told us they will be available — they practiced on Wednesday — but how much they will play, Coach Day even admitting to me he still didn't know," Taft said. "He had to have some tough conversations with the training staff yesterday. Now the Buckeyes do believe they have guys who can step up if those stars are not available. Guys like captain Brandon Inniss, tight end Max Klare, who is coming off his best game as a Buckeye last weekend."
