Jeremiah Smith says he’ll be back on the field when Ohio State plays Michigan on Saturday.
Minutes after Ryan Day affirmed that Smith and Carnell Tate were both trending in the right direction toward playing against Michigan during his appearance on the Buckeye Roundtable show, the Downs 2 Business podcast shared a clip from an interview with Smith in which the Ohio State wide receiver said he’ll be “good to go” for The Game.
“I’m feeling good,” Smith said. “Dealing with a little situation injury-wise, but I should be good to go Saturday.”

Smith missed Ohio State’s most recent game against Rutgers after leaving the UCLA game early. He was listed as questionable on Ohio State’s pregame injury report for the UCLA game, then played just three series and was seen limping on the sideline.
Based on what both Smith and Day said Monday, however, all signs are pointing toward Ohio State’s superstar wide receiver being back on the field for Saturday’s highly anticipated rivalry game in Ann Arbor – a game he has promised he “will not lose” for the rest of his career.
“I’m not a sore loser, but I hate losing, and losing to that team up north was pretty crazy. In the end, I think it really helped us play the way we did in the playoffs. But I didn’t want to go to Ohio State and lose to that team up north,” Smith told The Athletic in June. “I just hate them. Just something about them. For the next two years, I promise you, I will not lose to them. I can’t lose to them in the next two years.”
Smith’s full interview with Downs 2 Business, a podcast hosted by Ohio State safety Caleb Downs and his brother, Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Josh Downs, will be published on Wednesday.
