Ryan Day has his desired number of quarterbacks for 2025.
Ohio State landed a commitment from Houston Christian graduate transfer Eli Brickhandler on Tuesday, giving the Buckeyes a fourth quarterback to provide veteran depth alongside underclassmen Lincoln Kienholz, Julian Sayin and Tavien St. Clair.

Brickhandler started his career at North Carolina A&T before transferring to Houston Christian after two seasons. As a redshirt sophomore in 2024, he platooned with starting Huskies quarterback Cutter Stewart, appearing in eight games. He went 38-of-77 (49.4%) passing for 557 yards and four touchdowns with two interceptions.

Where Brickhandler did much more damage was on the ground, however, where he posted a 138-yard performance against McNeese. He finished the season with 63 carries for 264 yards (4.2 yards per carry), including sacks, with four touchdowns.
A native of Stockton, California, Brickhandler attended AHOP Christian Leadership Academy in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. He was unranked as a high school prospect.
Brickhandler will have two years of eligibility remaining in Columbus.
