A former Ohio State player is among the NFL’s players of the week for the second week in a row.

One week after C.J. Stroud became the first Buckeye to win an NFL player of the week award this season, Nick Bosa joined him on the board by winning the NFC Defensive Player of the Week award for Week 10.

The former Ohio State defensive end earns the honor after a dominant performance against the Jacksonville Jaguars in which he had 1.5 sacks, six total quarterback pressures, three total tackles, a forced fumble, a fumble recovery and a pass deflection.

Not coincidentally, Bosa’s best game of the year came in his first game reunited with Chase Young, who helped Bosa generate pressure on Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence by bringing his own pressure opposite his former Ohio State teammate. The two Buckeyes combined for a strip sack on which Bosa knocked the ball out of Lawrence’s hands and recovered the fumble himself, while Bosa also had a solo sack later in the game.

The game against the Jaguars, which the San Francisco 49ers won 34-3, was Bosa’s first multi-sack game of the season. The reigning NFL Defensive Player of the Year has now recorded 25 total tackles with 4.5 sacks with a league-leading 21 quarterback hits for the 2023 season.
