After every Ohio State win this season, we honor two Buckeyes with awards for offensive and defensive player of the week.

This week's Eleven Warriors offensive player of the week was a clear choice in veteran wide receiver Kamryn Babb, while Lathan Ransom earns our defensive player of the week honors.

While he didn't have the same statistical accumulation as his Buckeye teammates, Babb's efforts to return to the field for Ohio State after four torn ACLs and haul in his first-career catch and touchdown reception deserves praise.

Babb's touchdown came with 8:49 remaining in the fourth quarter and was the final scoring play of the game from both teams. Ohio State drove deep into Indiana territory and into the red zone. Babb entered the game with the Buckeyes' facing 2nd-and-1 from the Hoosiers' 8-yard line. He caught the touchdown pass from C.J. Stroud on the very next play.

Ransom has played at a high level all season for Ohio State, but he took it up a notch against Indiana on Saturday. He racked up nine tackles, 1.5 sacks, 1.5 tackles for loss, a pass breakup, and – most impressively – a blocked punt that set up a touchdown for Cade Stover and the Buckeyes on their following offensive possession.

This season, Ransom is one of 12 semifinalists for the Jim Thorpe Award, given to the best defensive back in college football. His play for the Buckeyes under first-year defensive coordinator Jim Knowles has undoubtedly warranted the recognition, as the Ohio State safety has collected 54 tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks, one forced fumble, one interception and two pass breakups in 2022.

Babb and Ransom are first-time recipients of our player of the game awards. They now accompany a loaded list of Buckeyes to have received the accolades this season after 10 weeks' worth of Ohio State wins.
