Ohio State is a comfortable favorite to win its first game of the second half of the season.

Coming off of their bye week, the Buckeyes opened as a 27-point betting favorite for next weekend’s game against Iowa, which also had the weekend off. The initial over/under of the game is 51.5 points.

Ohio State has won each of its last five games by at least 29 points, covering the spread in three of its last four games, but is set to face an Iowa defense that ranks third in the country with only 9.8 points allowed per game. The Hawkeyes have held five of their first six opponents to 10 points or fewer, though they gave up 27 points in their loss to Michigan.

That said, Iowa also ranks in the bottom five nationally in scoring offense with only 14.7 points scored per game. The Hawkeyes haven’t scored more than 27 points in any game this season, and they’ve been held to 14 points or fewer in all of their other four games, three of which they’ve lost.

Saturday’s game at Ohio Stadium is set for a noon kickoff and will be televised by FOX.
