Ohio State feels good about where its defensive line is headed.

“As a unit, we're headed in the right direction,” Ohio State defensive end Jack Sawyer said after the Buckeyes' practice Tuesday.

Sawyer was one of eight scholarship defensive linemen who met with reporters Tuesday along with defensive line coach Larry Johnson, and Eleven Warriors was in the Woody Hayes Athletic Center to get video of all of them.

Other defensive linemen who spoke were Ty Hamilton, Tyler Friday, Tyleik Williams, Zach Harrison, Jerron Cage, Taron Vincent and J.T. Tuimoloau, and they echoed Sawyer's thoughts about the vast depth of the defensive line while also praising the tenacity and aggression OSU has displayed in its preseason practices.

“The energy and the spirit in practice has been off the charts – better than it's ever been since I've been here,” Johnson said Tuesday. “The guys really enjoy themselves, they love practicing, they love playing. And I think that's good, I really do.”

You can hear more of what they had to say in the videos below.
