The Ohio State quarterback and cornerback were named Thursday as two of 20 semifinalists for this year's Walter Camp Player of the Year award, one of three major awards that honors college football's best player of the year (along with the Heisman Trophy and Maxwell Award).

Ohio State is one of five schools with multiple semifinalists for the award. Alabama is the only school with three semifinalists, while Clemson, Florida and Iowa State each have two.

Fields, who was named earlier this week as the Big Ten Offensive Player of the Year and Quarterback of the Year for the second year in a row, was also named Thursday as a finalist for the Manning Award, which honors college football's best quarterback and whose winner will be selected after the postseason. He was named Wednesday as one of five finalists for the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award, which honors college football's best upperclassman quarterback. He's also a semifinalist for the Maxwell Award and Davey O'Brien Award.

Wade, who was named Wednesday as the Big Ten Defensive Back of the Year, is also a semifinalist for the Jim Thorpe Award, which honors college football's best defensive back.

Five finalists for Walter Camp Player of the Year will be announced on Dec. 28, while the winner will be revealed on ESPN's SportsCenter on Jan. 7.
