Ohio State did not rely too much on its 2018 class during its 30-14 win over Minnesota, but some eight true freshmen still saw the field.
Dallas Gant and Tyreke Smith both had tackles on Saturday - as did Marcus Hooker in his season debut. In total, eight of their classmates saw the field. Both Gant and Smith, along with Tyler Friday, Chris Olave, Jeremy Ruckert and Tommy Togiai are true freshmen who will be true sophomores in 2019, each having appeared in at least five games.
The Buckeyes return to action next Saturday night when they visit West Lafayette.
