Ohio State practiced for the first time Friday morning and will do so 24 more times before the season opener against Oregon State on Sept. 1.

The Buckeyes will practice this Saturday and Sunday before a mandatory off day on Monday. Ohio State will return to the practice field on Tuesday and will practice for five straight days (Aug. 7-11) before an off day on Sunday, Aug. 12. The Buckeyes will then practice from Aug. 13-18 and Aug. 20-25 with off-days on Aug. 19 and 26. From there, Ohio State will practice every day until the opener against the Beavers.

The first day in pads for Ohio State will be Aug. 8, with the first day of classes starting Aug. 21.

Ohio State is currently practicing without head coach Urban Meyer, who was placed on paid administrative leave Wednesday following accusations he knew about former assistant coach Zach Smith's domestic violence allegations in 2015. Offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach Ryan Day is the acting head coach until Ohio State completes its investigation into the matter.
