Former Ohio State wide receiver Santonio Holmes retired from football Tuesday, and he did so as a Pittsburgh Steeler.

Holmes last played in 2014 with the Chicago Bears. He played with three teams in an eight year career that started with the Steelers drafting him in the first round of the 2006 draft.

He rewarded the Steelers' faith with a game-winning six-yard touchdown reception to win Super Bowl XLIII.

He finished his career with 6,030 receiving yards and 36 touchdowns.
