Ezekiel Elliott may have lost out to teammate Dak Prescott for the NFL's Offensive Rookie of the Year, but he did pick up one award, the Fed Ex Ground NFL Player of year. Awarded through a fan vote, the Fed Ex Ground NFL Player of the Year in 2017 was between Elliott, Pittsburgh RB Le'Veon Bell, and Arizona RB David Johnson.

Elliott was considered a favorite for Offensive Rookie of the Year because of an absolutely stellar season that saw him lead the NFL with 1,631 yards of rushing on 322 carries, good for a 5.1 yards per carry average. Quickly becoming a fan favorite, Elliott had the second-best rookie rushing season of all time, second only to Eric Dickerson's 1,808 yards in 1983.

If it's any consolation, Elliott also got six votes for NFL MVP, tied for third with Derek Carr behind Matt Ryan and Tom Brady.

When accepting the Offensive Rookie of the Year award, Prescott brought Elliott on to the stage and joked about wanting a knife to cut it in half and split it with his teammate.

Next year, however, it may very well instead be Elliott talking about splitting the NFL MVP trophy with Prescott instead.

You deserve it brother. Couldn't imagine this magical rookie season without you. Crazy think is we are just getting started. #214
