The rookie season of Houston Texans wide receiver Braxton Miller, a third-round draft pick, ended Tuesday afternoon when the franchise put the former Ohio State star on the injured reserve list.

Aaron Wilson of houstonchronicle.com first reported the news.

Miller bruised and sprained his right shoulder, the same shoulder he injured twice at Ohio State, during a 21-13 loss to the Green Bay Packers on Dec. 4th.

Though he reportedly suffered no structural damage, the Texans withheld him from Sunday's 22-17 win over the Indianapolis Colts.

Houston promoted former Cumberlands wide receiver Wendall Williams to take Miller's spot.

Miller finishes his rookie season with 15 catches for 99 yards and a touchdown. The former Ohio State star turned wide receiver was selected with the 85th overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft.
