Following a five-touchdown performance in Saturday night's 49-7 win at Rutgers, Ohio State quarterback J.T. Barrett was named co-Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week on Monday morning, sharing the honor with Michigan State quarterback Connor Cook.

Against the Scarlet Knights, Barrett completed 14-of-18 passes for 223 yards and three touchdowns, while also carrying the ball 13 times for 101 yards and two additional scores. Barrett had touchdown passes of 50, 30 and 1 yards while his scoring runs came from 2 and 10 yards out.

Cook threw for 398 yards and four touchdowns in the Spartans' 52-26 win over Indiana to split the award.

Saturday was Barrett's first start of the 2015 season for the top-ranked Buckeyes. He had spent the previous seven games as the backup to Cardale Jones.

Barrett was named Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week three times in 2014 and was the conference's freshman of the week on seven different occasions, a conference record.

Ohio State has a bye this weekend before hosting Minnesota on Nov. 7 at 8 p.m.
