In Urban Meyer's first press conference of the 2014 season, Ohio State's third-year coach named five captains for his team.
- Braxton Miller, quarterback.
- Jeff Heuerman, tight end.
- Michael Bennett, defensive tackle.
- Doran Grant, cornerback.
- Curtis Grant, linebacker.
Heuerman, Bennett and Doran Grant were shoe-ins for the position. Braxton Miller is a bit of surprise, considering the quarterback is out for the season and since he'll travel in that role, he'll take up a spot on the Buckeyes' 70-man travel roster.
Curtis Grant, however, is probably the biggest surprise of all. Sometimes, it takes competition to bring out the best in people.
Congrats to Braxton Miller, Jeff Heuerman, Michael Bennett, Curtis Grant, and Doran Grant on being voted as the 2014 captains. Great honor!— Urban Meyer (@OSUCoachMeyer) August 25, 2014
