The matchup between Mater Dei and St. John Bosco was expected to be one of the best games of the high school football season, and that's exactly what it turned into Friday night.

The two are not only among the best teams in California but also in the country. St. John Bosco was the top-ranked team in the country, while Mater Dei was ranked No. 12 heading into the matchup.

The Braves certainly looked the part early on, as the No. 1 team in the country led 21-3. But then two Ohio State 2026 wide receiver commits decided to take it into their own hands to ensure a comeback win for Mater Dei. The Monarchs came back to upset St. John Bosco, 36-31, to secure the win. To put that upset and comeback in perspective, the Braves had won their first nine games of the season by an average of 35.5 points per game.

Five-star wideout Chris Henry Jr. finished with five catches for 213 yards and two touchdowns on the night, including scores of 57 yards, 70 yards and 79 yards.

Four-star wide receiver Kayden Dixon-Wyatt had three touchdowns, including this impressive score to give Mater Dei its first lead of the game, which ended up being the game-winning touchdown.

Henry and Dixon-Wyatt are among the best prospects in Ohio State's 2026 recruiting class.
