It's never too early to get excited about commitments. Right?

Not many would have expected a 2028 running back commit before OSU got on the board for 2028, but Newman-Hall was on campus on Tuesday for an OSU recruiting camp and fell in love with the Buckeyes' campus and the idea of playing for Locklyn and went ahead and secured his spot in the class.
In his freshman season, Newman-Hall recorded 829 yards on 80 carries in 10 games. He also played defense, racking up 28 tackles, eight sacks, seven quarterback hits, three forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries.
Newman-Hall had offers from Miami, Florida State, UCF and Wake Forest, among others, but decided to shut down his recruitment early.
The 6-foot, 205-pound Newman-Hall is well-built for his age and can be a bruiser as a ball carrier. He quickly emerged as Locklyn's top target in the 2028 cycle after the OSU running backs coach saw him in action, and he pushed for an early commitment. Newman-Hall happily obliged and now can start peer recruiting others into OSU's 2028 recruiting class.
