A priority defensive tackle for Ohio State has finally locked in an official visit to Columbus.
Four-star Georgia product Deuce Geralds confirmed he’ll be at Ohio State on June 20, following official visits to LSU, Ole Miss and Oregon.
Geralds is the No. 73 prospect and No. 9 defensive lineman in the 2026 class per 247Sports’ composite rankings. He’s been a frequent visitor to Columbus throughout his recruitment, and the Buckeyes are thought to have major momentum with the 6-foot-3, 265-pound prospect.

A decision from Geralds likely will come sometime this summer before his senior season starts. As a junior, he recorded 114 tackles, 30 tackles for loss, 13 sacks and 36 quarterback hurries. Over his high school career, he’s racked up 77.5 tackles for loss and 37.5 sacks in a three-year stretch.
Carsyn Baker no longer visiting Ohio State
In a somewhat surprising development, four-star 2026 Georgia running back Carsyn Baker announced he’ll no longer be taking an official visit to Ohio State this summer. Throughout most of the spring, the Buckeyes have been considered a frontrunner for Baker, but now both the school and player are moving in different directions. Currently, Florida seems like the most likely destination for Baker.
After careful consideration I will not be taking my Ofiicial Visit to Ohio State June 13-15 thank you for the opportunity.@adamgorney @samspiegs @SWiltfong_ @ChadSimmons_

In the meantime, Ohio State is still focused on adding up to two running backs in 2026. Four-star Ohio running back Favour Akih was practically a Columbus resident in the spring, as he visited campus four times. As you’d expect, the Buckeyes are the heavy favorite to eventually land his commitment.
But I’d expect them to go heavily after five-star running backs Savion Hiter and Derrek Cooper with the intention of landing one of them. That doesn’t necessarily mean they’re going to be successful, of course, but if they head elsewhere, it won’t be for a lack of trying.
Hiter will be the first of the two to visit, in fact, the Virginia standout is already on campus. Speaking of which…
Official visits begin

Kamarui Dorsey picks up an offer from the Buckeyes
James Laurinaitis has offered one of the top linebackers in the 2027 cycle.
Four-star Georgia prospect Kamarui Dorsey became the latest player to receive an offer from the Buckeyes on Wednesday and the 14th linebacker offered in that cycle.

Last season, Dorsey recorded 58 tackles, four tackles for loss and three interceptions.
Mark Bowman commits to USC
In an expected move, one of Ohio State’s few remaining tight end options for the 2026 class is off the board. Five-star California prospect Mark Bowman committed to USC on Friday, as the Trojans continue to build a nice class in the current cycle.
