Tim Walton has offered one of the top cornerbacks in the 2027 class.
Ohio State extended the opportunity to five-star South Carolina product Joshua Dobson, the No. 6 player in the 2027 cycle and the No. 3 cornerback per 247Sports’ composite rankings.

Dobson has earned 28 Division I offers, including Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn, Boston College, Duke, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisville, Maryland, Mizzou, NC State, North Carolina, Notre Dame, Penn State, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas and Texas A&M.
Dobson was an all-state honoree and recorded 48 tackles, 10 pass breakups, three interceptions, and two kickoff return touchdowns. As a freshman, he racked up 24 tackles, six pass breakups and three interceptions.
The 6-foot-1, 175-pound prospect is a multi-sport athlete and participates in track and field as well.
Teddy Jarrard picks up an Ohio State offer
Ohio State has offered a promising quarterback in the 2027 class. Four-star Georgia signal caller Teddy Jarrard picked up the offer on Sunday and is considered the No. 271 prospect and No. 19 quarterback in the 2027 cycle.
Grateful to The Ohio State @OhioStateFB for the offer. @ryandaytime @CoachFess @brianhartline @rvfc10 @NCWarriorsFB @BALLERSCHOICE1 @northcobbOLine @NCHSrecruit @CoachTQ_ @AllenTrieu @TIM_MAYsports @ESPNRittenberg @TomVH @OhioStAthletics pic.twitter.com/2F4xfIYqQa

He’s earned 27 Division I offers, including Arkansas, Auburn, Boston College, Cincinnati, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Miami, Minnesota, Mississippi State, NC State, North Carolina, Purdue, Syracuse, UNLV, Vanderbilt, Virginia, Virginia Tech, Wake Forest and Wisconsin.
The 6-foot-3, 190-pound signal caller threw for 2,783 yards and 34 touchdowns while completing 72 percent of his passes a season ago.
Of course, Ohio State already has a quarterback committed for the 2027 cycle in Brady Edmunds, so Ryan Day and Billy Fessler offering Jarrard could just be due diligence, at least for now.
Buckeyes Offer Brysen Wright
Ryan Day and Brian Hartline have identified a standout wide receiver in the 2028 class. Ohio State offered Florida product Brysen Wright on Friday, making him the fourth wideout offered by the Buckeyes in 2028 so far.

The 6-foot-3, 200-pound wide receiver has 15 Division I offers thus far, including Boston College, Colorado, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Louisville, Maryland, Miami, Mizzou, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas and Texas A&M.
In his freshman year, Wright caught 31 passes for 646 yards and eight touchdowns.
Jordan Thomas sets up official visit for June 20
Ohio State’s most recent commit has set up his official visit for this summer. Four-star New Jersey product Jordan Thomas announced he’ll take his trip to Columbus this summer on June 20-22.

Thomas became the second cornerback in OSU’s 2026 class last week, joining Ohio product Jakob Weatherspoon. The Buckeyes beat out Notre Dame and Michigan for his commitment, and now Thomas will be available to help OSU peer recruit other priority prospects that weekend.
Jamir Perez commits to Florida
An Ohio State defensive tackle target is off the board. Three-star defensive tackle Jamir Perez committed to Florida on Sunday, fresh off an official visit with the Gators.

The 64 360 DL from Cleveland, OH chose the Gators over Ohio State, Vanderbilt, & Wisconsin
In the Swamp, lets get to it!! Im Home! https://t.co/6qoka5Wdug pic.twitter.com/VhszhjII9Q
Ohio State viewed the 6-foot-4, 360-pound product as a developmental project, but he still would have been a take for the school. Larry Johnson offered Perez last fall and the Buckeyes were seen as the team to beat in this recruitment, but the Gators went all out for Perez last weekend.
It’s unclear if the Glenville product will take other official visits this summer or if he’s shut down his recruitment and will stick with the Gators.
