Ohio State had a busy recruiting weekend, hosting dozens of prospects for its spring football game on Saturday.

While all of the Buckeyes’ coaching staff was busy mingling with recruits, six new offers went out during the weekend, one in the 2026 class and five from the 2027 cycle. We’ll break down each new offer below.

Jamir “JJ” Perez

Perez is the recruit offered that's closest to playing at the college level, and Larry Johnson clearly believes in the three-star defensive tackle’s ability to succeed with the Buckeyes. Johnson and Ryan Day offered Perez on Saturday, with the Glenville prospect being on the Buckeyes’ radar for months now.

The 6-foot-4, 330-pound Perez doesn’t hold a composite ranking, but has 20 Division I offers. Other schools that have offered Perez include Cincinnati, Iowa State, Wisconsin, Vanderbilt, Syracuse and West Virginia.

Perez also offers the Buckeyes the ability to continue the famed Glenville pipeline, with Arvell Reese, Bryce West and Damarion Witten joining OSU in recent recruiting classes. OSU would like to pair Perez with his high school teammates Cincere Johnson (2026 linebacker) and D’Angelo White (2027 tight end) as well.

At this point, it would be surprising if Perez didn't eventually take an official visit to Columbus this summer. Following the offer, the Buckeyes appear to be in the driver's seat for the Glenville defensive tackle prospect.

Justin Weeks

Of the five 2027 prospects offered over the weekend, Weeks is the lone recruit to hold a composite ranking, as he’s viewed as the No. 49 prospect nationally and the No. 7 edge player.

The 6-foot-5, 235-pound Georgia defensive end holds 21 Division I offers thus far, including Arkansas, Auburn, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisville, Miami, Notre Dame, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas A&M and USC.

Cameron Pritchett

Johnson also offered Pritchett, a 6-foot-3, 231-pound defensive end from Georgia.

He’s picked up 20 Division I offers so far, including Auburn, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisville, LSU, Maryland, Michigan, Missouri, Notre Dame, Ole Miss, Penn State, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas A&M, Texas and West Virginia.

In his sophomore season, Pritchett recorded 78 tackles, 15 tackles for loss, 6.5 sacks, six quarterback hurries and a forced fumble.

Judah “Heart” Lancaster

Tight ends coach Keenan Bailey offered Florida prospect Judah Lancaster on Saturday, making him the seventh tight end the Buckeyes have offered in the 2027 cycle.

The 6-foot-4, 200-pound product has earned 30 Division I offers, including Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Iowa State, Minnesota, Mizzou, Ole Miss, Oregon, Penn State and Texas A&M.

Lancaster plays for IMG Academy, a notorious high school powerhouse in Florida. Funny enough, IMG Academy also hired former Ohio State offensive line coach Greg Studrawa as its next head coach on Monday.

Isala Aisa Wily-Ava

Matt Guerrieri offered the 6-foot-2, 195-pound Wily-Ava on Saturday, as OSU enters the recruitment of one of the more talented prospects in the defensive backfield for 2027.

Wily-Ava, a California resident, has earned 19 Division I offers, including Arkansas, Florida State, Georgia, Notre Dame, Oregon, Tennessee, Texas, Texas A&M, USC and Washington.

As a sophomore for St. John Bosco, a powerhouse in California, Wily-Ava recorded 72 tackles, two tackles for loss, a sack, four pass deflections and seven interceptions.

Gavin Williams

Guerrieri’s offer to the 6-foot-1, 180-pound California prospect Gavin Williams made him the seventh safety in 2027 to receive an offer from OSU.

Williams holds 27 Division I offers, including Alabama, Arizona, Arizona State, Auburn, Florida State, Maryland, Michigan State, North Carolina, Notre Dame, Oregon, Syracuse, Tennessee, Texas A&M, USC and Washington.

Last season, Williams recorded 44 tackles, two tackles for loss, four interceptions, three forced fumbles, three pass deflections and a blocked field goal.

Jackson Cantwell sets decision for April 30

The No. 1 offensive tackle in the 2026 class is ready to make a decision. Five-star offensive tackle Jackson Cantwell announced he’ll commit on April 30 and choose between Oregon, Ohio State, Miami and Georgia.

Cantwell visited OSU earlier this spring, but the Buckeyes aren’t likely going to be the winner of this recruitment. The Ducks are seen as the heavy favorite in the recruiting industry, with Cantwell scheduled to take an official visit to Eugene before he makes his final decision.

Bralan Womack to commit on Aug. 23

Another five-star recruiting target for Ohio State in the 2026 class has set a commitment date. Mississippi safety Bralan Womack announced Monday he’ll commit on Aug. 23 and will choose from Ohio State, Auburn, Texas A&M and Florida.

Womack visited OSU earlier this month and will take an official visit to Columbus later this summer. There’s no official frontrunner for the No. 2 safety prospect in the country as of yet, but the Buckeyes have better than a puncher’s chance in this one even with five-star prospect Blaine Bradford and four-star safety Simeon Calwell already committed to OSU.

Brady Edmunds delivers strong performance in Elite 11 accuracy challenge

Ohio State five-star 2027 quarterback commit Brady Edmunds spent his weekend attending the Buckeyes’ spring game on Saturday, then traveled to Massillon on Sunday to compete in the Elite 11 Regional.

Edmunds performed admirably in the contest, tying the highest score by an underclassman in the accuracy challenge with a total score of 21 points. Louisville commitment Briggs Cherry was the lone 2026 quarterback to earn an invitation to the Elite 11 Finals this summer at the event.
