Over the weekend, Ohio State extended two offers to prospects and saw two targets include the Buckeyes in their top-12 lists.

We’ll delve into each of those storylines below.

Buckeyes offer OSU legacy Trey McNutt

Ohio State offered a Buckeye legacy on Friday after 2025 Ohio defensive back prospect Trey McNutt visited Columbus. McNutt, the son of former OSU cornerback Richard McNutt, is being looked at by OSU at both safety and cornerback but is more likely to suit up at cornerback at the next level.

The 6-foot, 180-pound prospect has picked up 18 Division I offers, including Arkansas, Illinois, Kentucky, Michigan, Notre Dame, Penn State, Pittsburgh, Purdue, South Carolina, West Virginia, Wisconsin, Toledo and Tennessee State (where his father is currently the defensive backs coach).

In McNutt’s sophomore season at Shaker Heights, he racked up 40 tackles (2 for loss), eight pass breakups and one interception while rotating between safety and cornerback. He also contributed offensively, mostly at wide receiver, accumulating 577 yards from scrimmage with eight total touchdowns.

Devin Williams picks up OSU offer

Four-star 2025 Georgia cornerback Devin Williams was another player who earned an Ohio State offer after visiting Columbus on Friday. Williams attends Buford High School and is high school teammates with fellow OSU targets KJ Bolden and Eddrick Houston.

Per 247Sports’ composite rankings, Williams is considered the No. 51 overall prospect and the fourth-ranked cornerback in the 2024 class. He has picked up 25 Division I offers, including Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn, Cincinnati, Colorado, Duke, FIU, Florida, Florida State, Michigan, Michigan State, Mississippi State, NC State, Notre Dame, Penn State, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Texas A&M, Virginia Tech and West Virginia.

Aaron Scott includes Ohio State in top 12

One of Ohio State’s top cornerback targets in the 2024 class has cut his recruitment down to 12 teams. Four-star Ohio cornerback Aaron Scott released a top 12 Sunday consisting of Ohio State, Oregon, USC, Michigan, Florida State, Penn State, Notre Dame, Kentucky, Pittsburgh, Louisville, Oklahoma and Tennessee.

Ohio State continues to sit in a prime position for Scott, who visited OSU on April 3, the same day fellow in-state cornerback target Bryce West also visited Columbus. Scott has also set an official visit to OSU for June 24.

Defensive tackle Jayden Jackson puts Buckeyes in top 12

Three-star 2024 defensive tackle Jayden Jackson also included OSU among his top 12 schools in a list released on Monday. Texas, Miami, Auburn, Florida, Notre Dame, Texas A&M, Oklahoma, Nebraska, Tennessee, Wisconsin and Colorado join Ohio State on the list.

Jackson is expected to visit Ohio State this weekend for the Buckeyes’ spring game. The 6-foot-2, 300-pound prospect was offered by OSU on Jan. 11.

“I’ve been there multiple times and I was hoping that would be a school I eventually got an offer to,” Jackson told Eleven Warriors after receiving the offer. “I’ve liked them ever since I was a kid. They’ve always been a college that shines, them winning the championship (in 2014) when I was a kid definitely piqued my interest.”

Seini Hicks, sister of Chris Henry Jr., commits to OSU WBB

Ohio State women's basketball landed a prime in-state commitment on Monday after 2024 Cincinnati product Seini Hicks gave her verbal to OSU.

Hicks, a forward at West Clermont, is the sister of top Ohio State 2026 wide receiver target Chris Henry Jr. She transferred to West Clermont last season after previously playing in North Carolina, and averaged 13 points, 10 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 1.4 blocks per game for West Clermont. She was a first-team all-district selection and a second-team all-Ohio selection.

Henry Jr., who became the second player in the 2026 class to receive an offer from the Buckeyes after camping at Ohio State in June, has visited Ohio State multiple times since receiving his offer including a visit for a spring practice in March. The high school freshman is expected to be one of the top-ranked wideouts in his recruiting class.

In case you missed it

Ohio State landed a new quarterback commitment for the 2024 class on Saturday evening from Air Noland, as the Buckeyes filled the void left by former OSU quarterback commit Dylan Raiola's decommitment in December.
