Four-star 2024 California wide receiver Ryan Pellum made the most of his weekend in Columbus.

The 5-foot-10, 160-pound wideout toured Ohio State Saturday and met with the Buckeyes’ coaching staff, then one day later turned around and decided to participate in Sunday’s Under Armour Nex+ camp in Columbus since he was already in town.

As far as Ohio State is concerned, the visit went well, according to Pellum.

“It was great,” Pellum told Eleven Warriors of his OSU visit. “I loved it up there. They loved me. And they showed me a good time.”

Pellum was offered by Ohio State in late December when the Buckeyes invited him to a practice leading up to the Rose Bowl. Since the offer, Pellum has been impressed with OSU wide receivers coach Brian Hartline.

“We're both competitive people,” Pellum said of he and Hartline. “So you know, we go well together, and he can see me on this field.”

Pellum, who just visited Michigan on Friday, said he may get back to Ohio State later this year, but didn’t specify when that may happen. He also said he plans to visit Alabama and Georgia in the near future.

According to 247Sports’ composite rankings, Pellum is the 34th-best player and the sixth-best wideout in the 2024 cycle. Pellum currently has around 40 Division I offers, a list that includes Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn, Florida State, Georgia, LSU, Michigan, Michigan State, Notre Dame, Oregon, Penn State, Texas, Texas A&M and USC.

In eight games for Millikan High School (Long Beach, California) last season, the sophomore wideout caught 42 passes for 721 yards with 10 touchdowns. Pellum also scored a rushing touchdown and finished with 35 rushing yards on 13 carries this season.

As of now, Pellum has no set commitment timeline and is taking his time with the recruiting process.

Johnson to visit OSU April 1-2

Add another key visit for Ohio State the weekend of April 1-2.

Alongside names like Carnell Tate, Brandon Inniss, Jeremiah Smith and more, four-star 2023 Florida cornerback Dijon Johnson has locked in a visit to Columbus that weekend, per his Twitter account.

Johnson is considered the 358th-best prospect in the 2023 cycle and the 35th-best cornerback. He currently holds 35 Division I offers, a list that includes Oklahoma, Alabama, Texas A&M, Tennessee, Penn State, Ole Miss, Michigan, Michigan State, Louisville, Kentucky, Indiana, Georgia, Florida and Auburn.

The 6-foot-1, 190-pound Johnson picked up his OSU offer on Jan. 25, calling it “his dream offer.” In 10 games for Wharton High School (Tampa Bay, Florida) last season, Johnson racked up three interceptions, one fumble recovery, 10 pass deflections and 12 total tackles.

Kilbane to visit OSU Saturday

Three-star Ohio 2023 defensive end Michael Kilbane will visit Ohio State on Saturday, the St. Edward High School product told Eleven Warriors Tuesday.

“I’m excited to see the way coach Larry Johnson interacts with the players, the awesome facilities, and to further my relationship with the coaches,” Kilbane said.

Kilbane, who helped lead St. Edward to a Division I Ohio state championship last season, is only now starting to primarily focus on his recruitment, as he just wrapped up his wrestling season. The visit to OSU will be the first trip he takes this spring.

After playing linebacker as a freshman and sophomore, Kilbane has made his case for an OSU offer with a monster first season as a defensive end, racking up 104 tackles and 16.5 sacks. Growing up in Ohio, his favorite college team growing up was Ohio State, so landing an offer from the Buckeyes would be a dream come true for Kilbane.

Thus far, the 6-foot-4, 240-pound defensive end has 25 Division I offers, including Penn State, Cincinnati, Iowa State, Kentucky, West Virginia, Virginia Tech and Purdue.
