The Hurry Up is your nightly dose of updates from the Ohio State football recruiting trail, keeping tabs on the latest from commits and targets from around the country.

THAT’S A BIG NET

Earlier this month, Atlanta Pace Academy five-star offensive guard Jamaree Salyer announced he’ll take an official visit to Ohio State for the Oct. 28 game against Penn State. It’s still a long shot for the Buckeyes to land his pledge, however.

“I kind of have two that have pushed past the others on the list in Georgia and Clemson,” Salyer told Dawg Nation. “I’m still considering Ohio State as a safety net just in case something tragic goes on with both schools, but I really highly doubt that given how those two are playing right now.”

In short, it would take an epic collapse from the currently undefeated Bulldogs and Tigers for the 6-foot-4, 342-pound Salyer to change his mind. He did, however, alter his schedule a bit this fall.

Originally set to visit Clemson, Georgia, Notre Dame, Ohio State and Stanford, Salyer dropped the Cardinal and Fighting Irish in favor of a trip to Florida. The Gators don’t really have a shot, either.

“Some of these official visits are to make sure this school or that school will not be the right school for me,” Salyer said. “But for Georgia and Clemson, [those visits] will be to help me and my family decide which one I want to be a part of.”

All that said, this will mark Salyer’s second trip to campus, as he also attended last season’s double-overtime win over Michigan. The staff will surely roll out the red carpet this time, too, despite being considered the fall-back school. Will it matter, though? Nope. Just a free ticket to one of the most highly anticipated games of the season.

THINK HE LIKES OHIO STATE?

Ohio State will also welcome Oak Park, Michigan, four-star offensive guard Justin Rogers for the aforementioned matchup with Penn State. It won’t be his last trip to campus this season, either.

“[I’ll be at] Penn State, Michigan State and Illinois,” Rogers told Eleven Warriors

The 6-foot-4, 265-pound Rogers is considered the top-rated offensive guard and No. 25 prospect overall in the Class of 2020. He holds more than a dozen offers from programs such as Kentucky, Maryland, Ohio State, Oregon, Pittsburgh and Syracuse.

The Buckeyes actually offered Rogers — not to be confused with the TCU quarterback commit of the same name — following an impressive performance at Friday Night Lights in July. He was also on campus for a one-day camp in June and for the 31-16 loss to Oklahoma earlier this month.

"I like the campus, good coaching staff and people surrounding you,” Rogers said.

It certainly goes without saying Ohio State is the early leader in Rogers’ recruitment. Just don’t expect him to make a decision until sometime during his junior year.

ON THE DOCKET

It’s Friday again, which means there’s another slate of high school football games across the country this evening.

Ohio State quarterback commit Emory Jones has the next two weeks off, while safety pledge Jaiden Woodbey has his first open date of the season. Running back commit Master Teague III is sidelined for the remainder of the year after having ankle surgery, while tight end Jeremy Ruckert and running back Brian Snead played earlier this week.
