The Hurry Up is your nightcap of Ohio State recruiting news, catching you up on the day’s events with an ear on the ground for what’s next.

KEEP WATCHING CARMAN

When it comes to Ohio and the 2018 recruiting class, the one name we've talked about over and over (and deservedly so) is Westerville South's Jaelen Gil, but it's time to start cranking up the hype-machine about Fairfield offensive tackle Jack Carman.

Carman, 6-foot-6 and 275-pounds, was offered last month by Michigan and Friday added another major Big Ten offer.

What about the Buckeyes?

"Kerry Coombs came to the school and talked to Coach Krause," Carman told Eleven Warriors. "Coach told me afterwards they're going to offer me when I come up to visit them since they want Urban (Meyer) to offer me in person."

The matter of when Carman will visit is "the thing."

"Our team is in the playoffs," Carman added. "The Buckeyes only have two homes games left so I may not be able to go to either of them. I might go to a bowl game practice."

LAWRENCE CONSIDERING ANOTHER UNOFFICIAL VISIT?

Ohio State's pursuit of another big time defensive tackle to complement Malik Barrow in the 2016 class could be coming to a head and the Nov. 21 weekend is shaping up to be quite the scene. Rivals.com reported today that Rashard Lawrence, who visited the Buckeyes officially for the Oct. 17 contest with Penn State, is working to arrange another visit to Columbus for a game before the season ends.

Lawrence told Rivals' Jason Howell that his trip with Ohio State was his favorite official visit so far (he's only made one other, to UCLA, so take that with a grain of salt) and he was visited by Larry Johnson Sr. last week. The five-star tackle continues to be an interesting name to watch and another unofficial visit – his third trip to Columbus in four months – would be very noteworthy.

If Lawrence makes another visit, it's likely to be for the November 21st showdown with Michigan State. That is the same weekend that Antwuan Jackson and Dexter Lawrence, two of the country's best lineman, will make their official visits to Ohio State, and a weekend that will also see Nick Bosa and Barrow – and of course Jonathon Cooper – visiting as well.

If there's ever been a chance to make a pitch about the need for defensive line depth and talent, having all those guys together at one time is sure to be it.

To recap, on the weekend of Nov. 21, the Buckeyes could have the country's second, sixth, and ninth ranked defensive tackles, all uncommitted, visiting at one time.

LECOUNTE LISTS BUCKEYES

It's the time of year when the leaves start changing colors and the nation's best prospects start dropping lists of their favorite schools on social media. Sunday night, two Ohio State targets, both in the 2017 recruiting class, did just that.

Richard LeCounte's list of seven schools includes a few names you'd expect and a couple that you might not.

Of course, as we've said over and over, there's really only two teams in the LeCounte race, according to most people close to the country's 43rd-ranked prospect: Georgia and Ohio State. If there's a third that's a legitimate threat, it could be Clemson but the Buckeyes and Bulldogs are the primary pair when it comes to hopes of landing him.

Could Ohio State get a boost in his recruitment, which could end this December?

A potential coaching change at Georgia is being bandied about and that would absolutely throw a wrinkle into things.

JOHNSON NARROWS HIS FOCUS

The second player in the 2017 class who released an updated "top schools" list is Keyshawn Johnson, Jr.

Johnson, the cousin of Ohio State wide receiver Michael Thomas, has been to Columbus a handful of times, but it's probably Nebraska that is in the driver's seat right now in terms of his recruitment.

Ohio State's 2017 wide receiver group is going to be a tough one to break into and currently Johnson is probably on the outside looking in. He is, however, expected to make his next visit to Columbus on Nov. 21.

HAUSMANN EARNS ALL-LEAGUE HONORS

Ohio State commitment Jake Hausmann picked up all-league honors in the GCL this weekend and was also named the league's Tight End of the Year, according to a tweet from his coach, John Rodenberg.

Hausmann said he's glad to have earned the award.

"I'm very honored," Hausmann told Eleven Warriors. "It's great to see that all of my work has payed off."

The 6-foot-5, 235 pound tight end, who committed to the Buckeyes in January, finished his senior season with 50 catches for 718 yards and 11 touchdowns.
