Every weekend in the fall, thousands of high school football teams line up and take their shot at prep glory. The Sunday morning Prep Tracker is your final stop for the names, numbers and scores that mattered to Ohio State's recruiting efforts.

RETURN OF THE MACK

Austin Mack had a game for the ages Friday night. His team, Bishop Luers, lost to Carroll 38-43. However, everybody who watched this game will only remember Mack's performance. From nws.live.mediaspanonline.com:

The Bishop Luers wide receiver accounted for 447 total yards and six touchdowns in a 43-38 loss to Carroll. He rushed for 132 yards and four scores, caught four passes for 151 yards and a touchdown and amassed 164 return yards – including a 99-yard kickoff return for a touchdown.

Mack torched a Chargers team that is no pushover. In an epic back-and-forth game that included seven lead changes – including four in the final 9:02 of regulation – Mack was nearly unstoppable. He weaved and winded his way through defenders with relative ease, making big play after big play despite double and triple teams.

Credit the Bishop Luers coaching staff for having the ingenuity to find all opportunities in which to feed their beast the ball. Mack lined up in the backfield, the slot, the Wildcat and even various positions on return teams to maximize his touches. The Chargers tried to keep the ball away from the Ohio State commit, but largely could not. All Carroll could do was out-score Mack.

Austin Mack finished the game with 6 total touchdowns and averaged 37.8 yards per reception.

MCCALL DOES IT ALL IN NORTH RIDGEVILLE WIN

A week after Demario McCall had two touchdown runs of 50+ yards, he followed it up by rushing for 220 yards (16.9 ypc) three rushing touchdowns and a 23-yard receiving touchdown Friday night. McCall was most impressive on the final play of the first half. From morningjournal.com:

Just looking to run out the clock, McCall was stopped. But a personal foul by Avon Lake with one second left gave North Ridgeville (4-1, 3-1) one more play before the half.

Enter the Hail Mary on feet.

On the left hash, McCall took the pitch left. He appeared to be hemmed in by the Shoremen defense, but with jitterbug moves, he worked his way down the sideline and started to break into the clear.

Still avoiding tacklers, McCall changed his direction and ran diagonally to prevent anyone from catching him. He crossed the goal line just in front of the right pylon to complete the 76-yard run with no time left on the clock and give the Rangers a 28-0 lead at the half.

How did McCall feel about his impressive performance?

“I’m in the zone (on the run),” McCall said, who had 193 yards rushing on 10 carries in the first half. “(I) can slow down and speed up. My body does stuff that I don’t know how it does it.”

“I’m proud of my team. We call this a game of inches and we won them all. We came out here and did our job.”

McCall may not know how he accomplishes his athletic feats, but in the coming years Ohio State fans will like to watch his talents in the Scarlet and Gray.

BRUCE JUDSON SCORES WINNING TOUCHDOWN

Cocoa is now 4-1 on the season after 2017 Ohio State commit Bruce Judson secured the win over Viera. Judson's game winning drive per floridatoday.com:

Cocoa, which had three touchdown runs by Timmy Pratt and a pair of scores from Judson — a 92-yard run and a 46-yard pass to Zack Armour — got the ball on its own 43-yard line with 2:44 to play.

“I came into the huddle and I was like, ‘Get on my back and I’m going to take you down to the end zone,’ ” Judson said. “That was a state championship drive right there.”

[...]

With the football resting on the Viera High 6-yard line and less than 30 seconds left in a tie game, Cocoa High quarterback Bruce Judson came to the sidelines to talk to Tigers coach John Wilkinson.

He had a request.

“He said, ‘give me the ball,’ ” Wilkinson said. “I said, ‘Sounds good to me.’ ”

And so it was that Judson powered his way into the end zone with 14 seconds left to give Cocoa a 49-42 victory over visiting Viera in an emotionally-charged game that was certainly fun to watch.

Judson had missed last week's game with a broken rib but returned to his normal self. The Ohio State commit and his Cocoa teammates travel to Lakewood St. Edward this coming Saturday so if you're in Northeast Ohio, come out and see them play in what will be one of the country's biggest games this week.

TUF BORLAND IS...TOUGH

Bolingbrook lost 28-0 to Lincoln-Way East on Friday, but it wasn't because of the effort by Tuf Borland. Borland finished the game with 27 tackles and helped hold Lincoln-Way East to 131 yards rushing and 43 passing yards. Borland has now recorded 70 tackles in the last three games. That is just over 23 tackles per game.

GEORGE HILL SCORES ON HOOK AND LATERAL

George Hill rushed for 98 yards, two touchdowns and averaged 10.9 yards per carry in the loss to Howland.

NICK BOSA AND ST. THOMAS AQUINAS SURVIVE SCARE

A battle between two of Florida's top prep schools went down on Friday. In the end Nick Bosa, Trevon Grimes and St. Thomas were too much for Hallandale.

Grimes' two touchdowns per sfhs.cbslocal.com:

In that final quarter, it was one that everyone on both sides of the ball sat on the edge of their seats – as big plays and mistakes dictated the outcome.

When nationally rated junior receiver Trevon Grimes caught a 53 pass from University of Florida-bound junior quarterback Jake Allen, and an Allen to Grimes two-point conversion was good, the game was tied at 20.

[...]

The Raiders then took the first lead of the game with 4:28 left when Grimes caught a pass over the middle and used his world-class speed to race toward the end zone and a 29-28 lead.

St. Thomas Aquinas scored the last 16 points of the game to earn the 36-28 victory.

KIERRE HAWKINS SCORES GAME-WINNING TOUCHDOWN

Hawkins' fourth quarter touchdown run gave Maple Heights a 22-14 win over Bedford.
