The Hurry Up is your nightcap of Ohio State recruiting news, catching you up on the day’s events with an ear on the ground for what’s next.

CLARK, SIBLEY LEAD HOBAN IN ROUT

Last night in Akron, the Archbishop Hoban career of Danny Clark got underway and it couldn't have gone better for Clark, fellow 2017 commit Todd Sibley, Jr. and the Knights.

Kevin Noon of BuckeyeGrove.com was there and uploaded some excellent video of Clark and Sibley. The 6-foot-4, 230-pound quarterback finished 10-15 for 108 yards, but could have easily been 13-15 for close to 200 and three scores without three dropped passes.

As I watched Clark, it was incredible to see the development in his game from last year to last night. His footwork and accuracy were better than I've seen it and he showed excellent physicality when he left the pocket. His only two true incompletions were balls he threw away under pressure. I know that many have had questions about Clark, but if last night was any indicator of his potential and the trajectory his career is on, there's a lot of reasons to be excited. He talked with Scout.com's Bill Greene afterwards.

"I think I'm better at everything, and I've been working all year with my head coach (Tim Tyrrell) and Coach (Tim) Beck down at Ohio State," he added. "I think a couple things I've gotten better at would be efficiency, in knowing down and distance. Knowing when to throw it away, or when to tuck it and run."

As for Sibley, the 5-foot-11, 205-pounder was dominating the Bulldog defense in an explosive first quarter. He scored twice – on runs of four and seven yards – before leaving the game with a shoulder injury. He's getting an X-ray Friday to get the injury checked out, but sources at Hoban suggest that he should be ok.

TEXAS DEFENSIVE TACKLE NARROWING HIS LIST

Michigan native and Euless, Texas, resident Chris Daniels, the country's 17th-ranked defensive tackle and 158th-ranked prospect, is expected to narrow his list to five schools Friday.

Daniels, who visited the Buckeyes two weeks ago during a trip to the Midwest for a wedding. Ohio State's need for a defensive tackle it well-documented and although Daniels may not be ahead of guys like Antwuan Jackson on their list, he's not behind many guys, either.

The Buckeyes, along with Michigan, TCU, Texas A&M, Oklahoma and others are vying for official visits from the 6-foot-4, 300-pounder.

STORIEDRIVALS.COM PREVIEWS GAHANNA LINCOLN, COOPER

The start of football season means team previews and the guys at StoriedRivals.com have their latest and it features Ohio State commitment Jonathon Cooper.

I'll see Cooper and Lincoln live next Friday against Westerville South.

FLORIDA RUNNING BACK LIKES BUCKEYES

Yesterday we talked about one of the country's top 2017 running backs – Georgia's Trey Sermon – and his developing connection with the Buckeyes. Now, it's Lakeland, Florida's Anthony Davis that is talking about Ohio State.

Davis, the country's 7th-ranked running back in the 2017 class, is a 5-foot-11, 190-pounder who told 247Sports.com that the Buckeyes are his current leader.

The Buckeyes offered first and have led since.

"I liked them since I was little growing up," Davis said of the Buckeyes. "We'll see how it plays out."

Davis confirmed that the lead is lengthy because he said he doesn't have a number two or three school.

"Really that's it," Davis of Ohio State.

Though his "crystal ball" reads Florida, Davis says he loves the Buckeyes but where he falls on their list right now is really what this comes down to. With Todd Sibley already committed and Trey Sermon at the top of the priority list, it's unsure how serious the pursuit of Davis is at present.

WHAT'S THE VECTOR, VICTOR?

There continues to be a number of different moving pieces in the Binjimen Victor sweepstakes. Victor, the 6-foot-4, 170 pound wide receiver from Coconut Creek (Florida), hasn't had much to say over the last month or so. Despite his recent silence, a number of other wideouts have made moves that may have an impact on Victor and potentially the Buckeyes.

We've touched on another 2016 wide receiver, Tampa Catholic's Nate Craig-Myers, a lot over the last few weeks. His newfound interest in the Florida Gators is certainly something Buckeye fans will want to keep an eye on, especially since his brother Jayvaugn Myers is a recent Gator commit. Other than NCM, there are two other wide receivers that seem to be moving the Gators up on their lists. North Marion's (Tampa) Freddie Swain is set to make a decision in late October. For a while it seemed like out-of-state schools like Tennessee and USC may be in the driver's seat, but Swain seems to be to be warming up a bit to the possibility of playing his college ball in his home state. He has three official visits locked in – USC, Tennessee and Miami – but continues to mention his interest in the Gators as well. Although he's a 2017 prospect, wide receiver James Robinson (Lakeland) has had Clemson out in front for a while now. Earlier this week, Robinson told 247's Ryan Bartow that Clemson no longer leads and the speculation is that this could be a Clemson/Florida battle.

Bottom line? There is a lot to pay attention to here, and for Ohio State fans, virtually all of this swirls around Victor. The Gators definitely need wide receivers, but they have three already in the fold and Nate Craig-Myers is looming.

Florida, USC, and Tennessee are three teams to keep an eye on as the wide receiver pieces continue to move.
