Well, that escalated quickly. As originally reported by our own Jordan Wagner, Tyler Green has committed to Ohio State today after receiving an offer at today's camp.

“I was nervous,” he said about speaking with Urban Meyer after camp. “I was smiling after I came out.” The reason for the smile? The four-star safety had committed to Urban Meyer and the Buckeyes.

“I was 100% ready to go, [Ohio State] was the one I was waiting for.”

Green joins a Buckeye recruiting class that has suddenly begun gaining momentum with two commits in just over two weeks. The Maryland speedster projects as a safety at Ohio State, picking the Buckeyes over offers from Virginia, N.C. State, Maryland and others.

Green came to Columbus this weekend on a mission to earn an offer from Ohio State, the one he knew he wanted, and didn't hesitate once that offer came. He had previously said that if Ohio State offered him he would be a Buckeye, and that proved to be true.

"I knew I wanted to be an Ohio State Buckeye," the newest commitment said. "I was ready to go. I've been thinking about Ohio State back while the season was going on."

"It feels great," he said of being a Buckeye. "The fan base, the coaches, the love, it feels great."

Green hopes to represent Ohio State well later this summer at "The Opening" in Oregon, an event that helped elevate last year's class to "The Dream 14." He will be a great leader in this class, there's no doubt about it.

While Green has only been committed for a matter of minutes, he is already looking forward to helping the Buckeyes on the recruiting trail. "Ohio State is low on commitments right now, so I am definitely planning to get some guys from the DMV area."

Urban Meyer called on the four-star prospect to help the Buckeyes recruiting class. "Coach Meyer told me he needed me to help get us some commits. As soon as I get home, I'm trying to pull some guys in."

Green later confirmed his commitment on Twitter:

An impressive 4.41 forty yard dash and a "sky-high" vertical contributed to the Buckeyes extending an offer, according to Green.
