Devin Royal is the new all-time scoring king at Pickerington Central.
The 2023 Ohio State signee dropped 28 points against Westerville South Thursday to break former Buckeye Jae'Sean Tate's high school career scoring mark and send his team to the Division I regional finals against Olentangy Orange on Saturday.

Royal, the No. 1 prospect in Ohio and 49th overall recruit in the 247Sports composite rankings, was also named one of seven finalists for Ohio Mr. Basketball on Thursday. The winner will be announced next Wednesday.

The 6-foot-7, 210-pound forward committed to Ohio State on Aug. 3, 2022, and signed with the program this past November. Royal is one of four signees and three top 50 prospects in Ohio State's 2023 class, which ranks sixth-best in the country overall.
