I would like to stay humble and hang my head and tell you that man, I just wasn't sure about this Chris Holtmann guy and boy was I wrong and blah blah blah whatever. But I can't, because as soon as this guy has stepped on campus he has been every bit the kind of coach that Ohio State men's basketball was desperate for in the past several years. His leadership from the summer on has given a ton of confidence to the team and to us, the fans.

Holtmann was nice enough to give us a lot (a LOT) of his time, in a wide-ranging and candid interview that covers how he came to Ohio State, his philosophy on coaching and recruiting, where he sees the program going in the future, and some musings on his friend Thad Matta.

What comes across most in this interview is how so unbelievably even-keeled Chris Holtmann is as a human being; he's the perfect coach for this time and place, and who knows what he'll be able to accomplish with a few recruiting classes under his belt.

And as always, if you enjoyed our chat with the coach, go ahead and rate and subscribe on iTunes! We'll be forever in your debt.

0:00 Holtmann stole the show, but first there's some Ohio State football business to take care of, as Kerry Coombs is riding off into that Tennessee sunset.

9:16 The interview! I'm a little sad that I couldn't help out personally, but Beau and Jason do a great job at pulling out some excellent information from the very forthright coach of the men's basketball program, including a nice Hoosiers (the movie) question.

33:51 Ask us Anything (which you can do via e-mail or Twitter) gets me to reveal Episcopopoly. It's a real thing.

Thanks as always to you for listening in and checking out our Dry Goods store, thanks to Travis for our kickass logo, and thanks again to Coach Chris Holtmann for coming on and chatting with us. It was a ton of fun. See you next week!
